I'm sure some more American directors would like to take a shot at making Godzilla films, I'm sure we'll enjoy watching their unusual conjurings. We can all come here, and continue our usual talking and having fun!:)

If you want Toho to churn out half-assed movies every year or so (not saying the Millennium series was half-assed, but it very well could have gotten there), that's fine by me. But I, as well as many others, feel that Godzilla needs a good, long break from the movie industry for the time being. Let's face it - all of the Millennium films, save for GMK, bombed at the Japanese box office, and the Big Guy is considered a joke over there nowadays.

Having said that, it's not like just because Godzilla is over means that all other kaiju flicks are over, too. Kong 05, Gamera: The Little Braves, and Reigo vs the Yamato ought to tide us over for the time being. Unless, of course, you thrive entirely on Godzilla, in which case, you're screwed as far as new movies go, other than G3D to the Max. But even then, there are still the DVDs.

Hey Taru, chill. I think of this as a blessing. Gives us some time to get whatever movies or toys or whatever over the break because theyre wont be more movies coming out. Also, I'm sure there will be a ton of nice things of Godzilla and company to go out and get. 2013 does seem like a long time away, and I'll be 23, but I can wait. As for american directors making new Godzilla's, I dont think they'd want to anyways.

If you haven't started collecting Godzilla figures, then you're missing out on the other half of what Godzilla is all about. Buy some magazines, comic books, figures, and even T-shirts to keep your interest fresh. Try new horizions, watch Ultraman and Gamera.

If you've seen and own all of the Godzilla movies... big deal.

Yeah, and there are other kaiju films being made.

Brace yourself for King Kong rip-offs as well as the new movie itself.
Get ready for Gamera 2006.
Be prepared for another slew of Ultraman movies and TV shows.

Well, it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other. If Toho would wise up and give their movie-makers a couple of years to properly prepare their films, they could make some better films and people might get interested again.

Well, if Toho gives Goji a rest, are they going to give the other kaiju a rest. Think about it, Rodan and Mothra's 50th anniversaries will be coming up. Rodan's is next year, and Mothra's is like in six years. Toho may decide to make movies in their honor, the same way they did with GFW.;)
