View Full Version : REBUILDING ROOSTVILLE AGAIN:
Emperor Violenjiger
January 21st, 2004, 07:11 PM
History: Originally posted at Monster Zero -o0o- Club Tokyo forums (http://clubtokyo.org/discuss) by Raptor, and inspired by Rodan's Roost during it's temporary shut-down in November 2003. It picks up where THE RESURRECTION OF DESUTOROIA: HELLSPAWN'S LEGACY (http://frost.bbboy.net/gardinerx-viewthread?forum=1&thread=4) left off.
The city of Roostville has vanished from its plane of existence and all that can be seen in its place are mountains and desert terrain. And secretly, a new threat is harvesting a great army...

This story features some of my best work, and I find it to be better and superior to RESURRECTION in many ways. The climax of this one was truely fabulous. The finale was one of the most well-written things I ever wrote.
Unlike RESURRECTION, I never wrote up ideas on paper for this one. Rodan2000 outlined the basic plot and I worked to make it as incredible as can be. Lots of interesting plots opened in this, hopefully to be explored in future tales.
I think that this story may be better than RESURRECTION because it introduces a lot of background on certain things, such as the Guardians (Sheriff Manda and the female BFR being sisters)... There is also more character development amoung Death's Council, and we get a little insight to Hellspawn's past life as a Conquerer from Faerun.
So, REBUILDING AGAIN may be better than RESURRECTION.
Rodan2000 was also very creative as he wrote up the "Prophecy of Roostville." If I am correct it was written on an old Seatopian stone tablet... Very creative.
The Alien Space Craft also leaves open limitless possibilities for future stories.

why thank you *bows*
yes, the Universal Bridge has unlimited possibilities, and was well written in. *question: when in Murder of Deu, Gamingboy called the dark lords to tell them that Morgoth had been replaced with a body snatcher, was that when he was abducted by the aliens who created the Universal Bridge?
anyways, the story is great, and really interesting that such a tale was inspered by the real life event of the Roost going down like that. *was a great idea and it was much less violent. that's just my opinion...

I think a prior "abstinence" resulted in Sheriff Varan checking The Evil Lair (http://www.kaijuphile.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=100;t=1580) to see if any of its denizens might have had something to do with a shorter "disappearence". *http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

There are many fan fics out there on the web.. but we have nothing like this epic Roostville adventures (except Roost Fighter, which comes close). These aren't just any fan fictions, these are stories where the main cast are all based on real people. Board members of Rodan's Roost going up, facing their fears and overcoming incredible odds! Not only do you get to read about the board members, but if it pleases you, then you can always add yourself to the ongoing adventures! If you'd like to appear in one, but don't have the time to write, just give me (or Raptor) a PM or post in the THIS IS ROOSTVILLE forum, and don't forget to put together a profile on what you want your character to be like. It's a great experience. And many agree!
So, remember, what Roostville has to offer is a great read for the readers, but also a chance for the reader to be apart of the action. http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Rebuilding Roostville Again: 48 hours til Apocalypse, started while we were temporarily displaced at MONSTER ZERO, an actual "disappearance" of "Roostville", yet it had several interesting side stories going on AROUND it. This "real life" situation played nicely into the concept and has since been revealed to be a result of.... READ THE STORY! (http://frost.bbboy.net/gardinerx-viewthread?forum=1&thread=14)

Aqualla: I enjoyed Rebuilding because I was actually involved in that one. It was the first Round Robin I had been involved in for a while and for me it just seemed more interesting when I was interacting with the other writers. It was also fun trying to guess and seeing how others would follow your segments. That's one of the things that make Round Robins so good.
R2K: yeah, Aqualla, that's partially my reasoning. this one i was actually in, and i saw the action happening, and the whole thing was going on as i read it. actually taking place at the same time i was reading it. knowing that anything can literally happen makes a story much better, and when you're reading and being in a round robin as its being written adds so much.
RadoGoji: I liked Rebuilding Again. Though Ressurection was my character's big break, RRA was still much superior.
SJJ: Hm....I guse RBR was better. Lord knows that I got mentiond in it. Why I dont know....Mabey cause I saved the day LAST time......
Lord K: Read it and you will see.. I think it may have had something to do with.. oh I dunno.. the fact that Mephistophelian wants revenge on your soul/spirit in Hell... and maybe as you said, you saved the day last time... wait a minute? Princess saved the day! Princess destroyed Apocalypse, and Afiag took the BD to Hell.. I guess you both saved the day. http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Lord K: There is an amazing plot-twist for the story and Morgoth reveals the surprising truth behind an ancient alien space craft found under the Musuem of Monsters...
RadoGoji: And the RMB golfcart's alarm goes off... with hilarious results!

I reviewed the Discussion thread at Lord K,'s forum for this story and there were a lot of good points brought up as it was being written. I think this will be a good example of story development and how these things come about. I also posted over there for everybody to check the STORY (http://roostville.kaijuphile.com/RebAgn48Hrs.html) to be sure the plot holes and such have been taken care of and the sequence of events is correct.
The "countdown" showed up in the original posts periodically and has been expanded to cover the entire tale. There's a few instances where day and night have been adjusted also as the finale was indicated as taking place at night. Please see how it reads when you get a chance and let me know what might need "fixing". http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
We probably need to leave that thread up over there for a bit as there's also "background" for harvesting and maybe Lord K. might like to do something with it in a particular approach for the website also.

<font color='#FF7F00'>Some of the Rado events are out of order. It seems that Sarevok, then later, Rado with Kivan show up in Monsterzeroville before Rado and Sarevok talk, and before Rado goes to Gigan Village to meet Kivan (of course, if there are some details that explain this, like a flashback, I might have missed them since I'm just skimming).
Oh, and before I forget, I noticed that you separated Rado and Goji to make it look like first and last names. RadoGoji is his real first name, and Wallace is his last name. Rado is just short for RadoGoji.

One word for 'RadoGoji' it is. I think I found where Rado's 8th(?) post got out of sequence. I look forward to a straight read-through of this version later! These larger tales too often end up with interruptions throwing things off! http://www.kaijuphile.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
