Just when Desutoroia thought it was safe to wander the streets of Roostville again, The Universal Dominator arrives promising gives beyond one's imaginations, and a serial killer simultaneously begins man slaughter!

Now comes, SEPARATION: DxK - the Discussion Thread for the latest Roostville adventure.

Here we go. This has been CONDENSED from the discussion topic at Lord K's but it's got the HIGHLIGHTS:

From Lord K: TIPS for writing GOOD Murder stories...

1. Never write the actual murder happening. Write the discovering of a body.
2. Keep the killer's identity secret and any appearances of the killer to a minimum.
3. Make sure the murders all fit the killer's profile (I won't spoil it for you, so just make sure that the people killed all are baring the symbol of comedy and tragedy, whether it be a mask like Freek, face painted/carved for the first 8 victims, or earrings like CRV, etc. And, they can't be sick and sadistic murders).

Another thing, if any of you think you have solved the murder, and think you know why C&T is doing this, you should make one of the MODS come up with a theory.

Raptor: Since this is a mystery, the "good guys"/cops have to figure out the killer's motive and/or who he is from the clues provided, hopefully in the posts which make for fun reading by everyone. But THEY would not be reading the posts where the killer is plotting and all that; they should be able to figure stuff out, like the similarities of the crimes, citizens that would fit a "profile", etc. If they lay a trap to catch him, it should be something that would draw him out; again, everything must be well thought out to fit the WHOLE story. By the time the tale is ended, there should also not be any "loose ends" that haven't been "played out". The whole thing should MAKE SENSE when it's done.  Doing these round robin style is quite a challenge!

From Rodan2000: actually, the cat is a description of my real cat, also named Tigerlily. i'm pretty sure that this is the only pet mentioned in the Roostville stories. and for a special twist, she'll be able to tunr into a female, tiger King Seesar, but that's a secret so, shhh...

Lord K: Godzilla guy the killer? Luckily for him there isn't enough evidence to convict him of anything...... yet!

Raptor: I think BATTRARULES is the most likely suspect myself! We also have a look into the often "mysterious past" of TWO prominent Roostville characters that have had a very great "impact" on the town! Now this is some terrific storytelling!

Lord K: If you read Rebuilding Roostville Again, I'm almost positive it's on page 1, it says who killed Hellspawn's fiance. I'm sure it will be quite a surprise.

R2K: the scene with Jenny was well written, and well informative. i'll add stuff with my cat:

Tigerlily Fireblossom, in her superform. she can generate a sheild using her hands, blocking all in front of her, she can throw fireballs like pitching baseball, she can light herslef on fire, she can use her claws by slashing with them or creat firey laser whips from the tips of her claws, and she can use her sword she carries and use it well.

Nightmare Seesar can blast back beam weapons with his eyes (he is a seesar, however bad) can creat a Nightmare Beam by holding his hands together and blasting with them, can use the beams last used on him for a short period (not just bouncing them back, but stealing them for a while.) and can sword fight as well, though not as good as Tigerlily.

use these stats for any battling you may want to post.

R2K: could be... it's up to you to decide. and remeber, this is Roostville, anything can happen. i'm trying to keep my new cat as serious as i can, so as not to disrupt anything. well, maybe a little, but there they did have Nightmare Gamera and Neo-Destroyah in Murder of Desu. most people
here in Roostville are were-gojis of some kind, why not a bad guy? and if this doesn't work out, then we can have him go back to his normal killing spree. it's just an experiment.

Raptor: Cool! That could work.

O/T and NOT part of the story until it gets written into it - just an idea. Kind of a for discussion/development thing like when we PM ideas and stuff back and forth before posting.

What's to say the killer either had this "talent" all along OR just "discovered" it? He is a serial killer in the sense he's killed more than just a single, TARGETTED person so he probably has a "plan" of some kind. There is also the "signature" element of "Comedy and Tragedy".
There is going to be another "development" in the story so he needs to be pretty well kept "in character" as a regular killer would go about his evil scheme. This will help the "other" sub-story unfold without being too confusing to the investigation and readers.

Lord K: The killer has left a clue for R2k.

R2K: your vison things as a solution are pretty cool. i'll stop doing those things with me and the killer for a while. so far this story is going pretty good, and might be up there as one of the best.

Lord K: Well one thing I've noticed happened.. when the door bell rang and the letter was found.. where was Godzilla Guy?

Hint: Kiryu and Guests.
But if it's not him??? DUN DUN DUN! Then.. who is it? And who else will die before the ending resolution of this saga?

SJJ: Add two more bodies to the growing list.

Lord K: Does it fit the killer's profile..? If not, I'm guessing we may have a copy cat killer on our case...?

SJJ: I think it dose.

Lord K: I wrote my post so that it was a dream. After having the dream Yuri turns on the news the next morning to discover that a girl did die...
At first the murder the of the girl like that just seemed to SADISTIC and EVIL, like Hellspawn, to be the actually the killer... plus, it just seemed like the killer was paying way too much attention to the Jalepino Club... Then I thought, no no, it can be a foreshadowing of a child's murder... now me and Raptor just have to come up with why the killer has killed a child...

Darkside Reject: The child could have found out who the killer was...

Lord K: I don't think that would work... me and Raptor have already figured what the girl did that made Comedy and Tragedy kill her.

SJJ: Now its realy getting good.

Lord K: Now Rado can make a come-back after three months...

Aqualla: So does that mean RadoGoji Quest lasts just over 3 months, so we all will be getting back soon? It'll be a bit confusing for us all won't it?! Whenever we ask about someone we'll be told they're dead!

Raptor: I would think the gang's whereabouts can remain in question for the time being. As for returning, I'm sure that can be arranged when the time comes and everyone can get caught up on what went on in Roostville,
including the death of cousin Freek.
If any of the "adventurers" would like to post about him in the story, that should be no problem as we really don't have any background on him. It's kind of like, all of a sudden, he's the DA but at odds with the Sheriff Dep't. and seems to have had his own "ways" of going about his job. Might have been an interesting character for the town if he had lived! ;-D

This is definately my best post yet, originally it ended with SV getting kicked out of the evil lair, but now I've added to the story... including a surprise at the house!

Rado: I posted a crossover post in Return. It also kind of solves the time issue, so Return takes place about the same time as Separation.

Raptor: Ubergeek also posted a "note" in a previous tale when the CRIMSON BATTLEFIELD was conducting its DUEL OF THE FATES tournament, which he was involved in. This is helpful in keeping track of folks and avoids "being in two places at once" nicely.
Of course, there's no problem with someone POSTING in a story as long as THEIR CHARACTER isn't showing up. If Rado and Aqualla would like to post in SEPARATION, no problem! Everyone is great around here as to being able to "handle" other peoples' characters. I don't believe anyone ever imagined they would find themselves in Roostville in the first place! ;-D

Lord K: I have plans for what's going to happen to R2k and Friends inside hellspawn's old mansion.

R2K: i thought he was doing this cause Desu was always in the spotlight and he wanted RV the Soap Opera off air...

Raptor: In mysteries, there are "clues" scattered throughout the story that may be relevant or not. With the murder of Chris Glinski, compare the crime scene to the others.
There was also the car bomb. Who would have been a likely target and why?

R2K: the Killer admitted that, didn't he? i'm confused.

Lord K: Interesting plot twist with the "Time Flash Rodan." Something like that deserves to be further developed (or what would the point of introducing it be????). Just don't use it TOO much.. Perhaps R2k can only use it at certain times... For now though, the "Time Flash" should NOT be used as a weapon to fight the "Comedy and Tragedy Killer." It could limit the mystery of his shocking murders.

R2K: yeah, that's why he says something about a limited time alteration, he can only move through time for a limited area of time. like only forward or backward about...ohh, say...24 hours, or something like that.

Lord K: Are you going to further develop these "powers" that Rodan2000 keeps getting?

R2K:  yes. (check out the latest in DxK) i'm gonna have a good number of other power forms after this, like an Acrobat Rodan, and an Earth Rodan. i'm still looking for more ideas and'll be happy to accept any from other members. any ideas?

Lord K:  I just hope this doesn't go to waste. If it get's forgotten about, then introducing in would've been a waste.

Raptor: I think they'll be good "back-ups", used only in the worst situations (and infrequently). R2K is also still "discovering" his powers. It kind of reminds me of the "Superman" theme in a way, with young Clark Kent. A few of R2K's friends have seen him in action but he's still the proprietor of the Jalepino Club rather than a superhero type; a great "low key" character (at least in Roostville adventures)!

R2K: who you calling "low key"? j/k yeah, that's me. i'm really only building these powers up for some face-offs i have with an evil, evil bad guy in an upcoming Round Robin i'm thinking up. more on that later...

this introduction of the actual years of Roostville is great. i haven't read many previous ones, but as far as i know, this is the first time the year is brought into play. it sounds like the beginning year of Roostville was 2004, this year real life, and a great time for something originally spawned from Godzilla to have started in history...

R2K: okay, i'm gonna nip this in the bud: my latest post is NOT in ANY way related to/inspired by Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a moron serires and it in no way inspired the chess set room in Hellspawn's Mansion. just wanted to
make that clear. heh heh, Werner Weiners.

Raptor: From The Murder of Desutoroia! It was a prerecord on the 9-1-1 line.

R2K: yeah, i just finished Murder, i thought it was funny that they got incorporated back into Roostville.

Lord K: New character and plot twist introduced in the latest post.

Raptor: Very interesting development indeed!
I'm hoping that MANY elements that make Roostville the unique place it is will be expanded upon as we go. This is often awkward when trying to keep a story flowing but with a website, we can do just that! Cam also has some neat "information" we haven't seen yet that will add a LOT to our little town!

R2K: Check out the Jalepino Club for a past tie in. some explanations on Space Varan's past with Princess...

Raptor: Nice! Desu is married to Princess at this point but this all should work nicely toward getting the Club caught up toward "current times". Now THAT post in the Jalepino Club REALLY ties everything together! Roostville is truly becoming a viable "universe" with a lush "history" to draw on. Great seamless development is being shown here that can easily be integrated into character profiles/"histories", even if exposed in "flashback" or a tale that might not necessarily be the Roostville "chronicles" themselves. BRAVO!

R2K: *i'm planning on expanding on this section of the Jalepino Club to explain more on Space Varan's backround on his hatred for Desu. excuse me, "dislike of his character". i'm still trying to keep it comical and not serious as well as having things explained for the future. this should be pretty cool.

PS now this is strange: my sister just got a temporary tattoo with a mask that's half Comedy, and half Tragedy. this was just to strange for my liking with the recent killings in Roostville.

Raptor: That "visit" by the killer was an interesting "twist". If you have an idea in mind to expand on that, go ahead. The only thing I would have deduced was his physical attributes. Not many folks can willingly jump thru a
2nd story window, off a deck and disappear that well! If he was trying poison, Phish's comments tied right in.
BTW, who would want HIM for an attending physician?!

R2K: yeah, that crazyold phish isn't my first choice for a doc

my latest post with the sheriff's motivational speech was actually something i did for my theatre class.  we had to memorize a monolugue and say it in front of the class, and so i wrote that.

It can be modelled after a hunting/sporting club, with military elements for additional "color" if someone would like to try their hand at such a stirring event.

As for SEPARATION, its got a serial killer on the loose, a continuation of an established story arc playing out AND is set in the established background of Roostville.

Yeah, I read the Outsiders. We're at chapter 10 in school, and I rented the movie during March Break. And, yes, that reply did get some inspiration from The Outsiders.

I liked the post as "another side of Roostville" also. The "atmosphere" created very well fits what comes after. If this was a film, tone, mood, lighting, etc. are all there! You can really "see" the story unfolding like this. I don't find "scene setting" distracting but a vital element of storytelling.

Darkside Reject: I just got done watching LXG,and Dr.Jekky/Mr.Hyde gave me an Idea for the killer.
He could have this werid mind battle between,the tradagy side which is always crying,and the comedy that is always laughing,and the markings that are on the victoms faces could show whicth side killed who.

The killer was once an actor on the soap opera show,but was fired for having werid mood swings between,tradagey,and comedy.She states"I dont need your stupid show,I can make my own soap opera!"She trys to make one of her own,but doesent even get green lighted for T.V.
A werid event could have happened that everyone ignored,stating that they will have revenge on roostville.Now that person is still trying too have there own T.V. show but they think that the only thing better then a realistic murder,is a REAL MURDER!!!!so she records what happens with a small portable video camera,and plays ALL the parts on there twisted show.
Now THAT would be cool!!!!

Lord K: Of course, we might want to wait awhile until more information on the killer is revealed.. then have this mind struggle? Or perhaps find a way to show signs that's constantly going on inside his head?

When the killer approaches the first six victims and speaks the first dialogue of the killer, the story says.. "I don't think you folks should be on the road," he said. Notice the whole HE said. And don't forget, The hooded man got out of his truck, holding something.. he approached the teenagers.. So, no, it's too late for the killer to be a female (and no, I hate the idea of a sex change).....

i'm really liking it.  it seems like it's the longest Round Robin, probably other than that 7 internet page one (either When the Dust Settled or Children of Chaos, cant remember which) and by far the longest Roostville round robin.

End? Oh no, Separation is far from finishing. First the killer has to kill some more victims, and some folks get introduced as suspects and then the killer's identity is revealed (which leads to the story taking a whole new direction, plot-wise).

The last thing that happened with your character was the killer kidnapped him... Too be real specific he was sealed in a room, and the last scene with him featured the killer looking in... So, in Roostville, Darkside has disappeared. But fear not, I've got plans to bring your character back. Once I bring back you can start posting again.

I don't know. There's quite a few victims that have to be killed, and I still need to further develop Khandejifer's character before the killer's identity is revealed. Then the story has to take a different turn in a whole new direction (Desutoroia VS. Khandejifer).

Telsa Arkz is Darksides EX-girlfriend from the moon colonys were they grew up.She is a hypontist(sp?)and pyshic.She entered Darkside dreams to tell him that she was coming,plus she likes playing little mind games with him.Darkside doesnt want her here in fear that she might get hurt(or worse)thats why he was telling her not to come,but she thinks its just an excuse to keep her from coming.
This is her first city she has ever been in,so she will be acting VERY weid.Like she doesent what a drive through is,and thinks theres a little man in that box:laugh:

This really needs to get sorted out IMO. I can't see where this Lord Congueror guy can fit into what's going on with Desu, Khan and a serial killer doing his thing in Roostville.
Ideally, subplots are introduced when the story starts so they can properly unfold, develop and GET RESOLVED in the end.
This started with Desu's good and evil sides and a serial killer, which should be giving EVERYONE plenty to work with. Varan COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD (see THE RESURRECTION OF DESUTOROIA: HELLSPAWN'S LEGACY (http://roostville.kaijuphile.com/ResofDesu.html)) just isn't going to &quot;fit&quot;. He committed SUICIDE. I really don't think his &quot;return&quot; is &quot;in character&quot; in the least.
For now, let's discuss IF and WHAT edits might be necessary to get this back on track, namely, which things will be developed AND FIT THE STORY. Darkside has something planned with the lady, I believe. Khan and Desu need to be resolved and BOTH CHARACTERS are &quot;reserved&quot; for further adventures that will tie into the Roostville &quot;canon&quot;. Not only did we &quot;visualize&quot; a &quot;town&quot; here but the CHARACTERS who inhabit it. They are the primary concern IMO and EVERYTHING they are written into needs to &quot;make sense&quot;. &nbsp;

How does this sound?:

1. The Lord Conqueror stays out of this tale.
2. We pick up the story with the Sheriff at the hospital.
3. I cannot see Battrarules being involved with the killings IN THIS STORY or being connected to Desu, Khan or who would be a likely (or otherwise) suspect. There's a list in the WHO'S THE KILLER? topic that I was HOPING to update, as well as get some work done on the site while the story unfolds IN A LOGICAL MANNER.
4. Darkside needs to develop the subplot with the girl.
5. Prince of Space has revealed that EB's dad was part of the Kong Town Actors Club and Sauron also was an actor who made a few appearances on Roostville: the Soap Opera. Rodan2K tells Raptor about this.
6. Battrarules rescued Darkside at Baragon's Restaurant and headed for the Mod Squad (don't forget that it got pretty much destroyed by a bomb) so maybe you mean to meet there? They do have their cruisers... Darkside was dropped off at the hospital instead.
7. The attack on Battrarules: This doesn't seem to fit the PROFILE of the killer. He is very intelligent and would realize something like what was described would happen. Would he risk such a confrontation? I don't think so. How about istead of &nbsp;&quot;having a &nbsp;score to settle with Jet Jaguar&quot;, the later meeting is an accident? I could see the strange &quot;blood&quot; developing into something and JJ being out of action could present a chance for something to play out with the other officers (what's left of them...)
8. Anyway you look at it, the Lord Conqueror has got to go, along with the two Varans.

We're not doing Freddy vs. Jason here. It's Khan and Desu and the Comedy &amp; Tragedy Killer. Also, whatever the Lord Conqueror might have in mind, I would suggest a new round robin start to explore those angles. Would that work to further define Battrarules also? That way, they could develop their relationship(?) and the readers/writers could best concentrate on that rather than trying to solve a big, complicated murder mystery that is also unfolding. As noted in several places in the tale, there is apparently a &quot;copy-cat&quot; killer at work also.

My plans with Telsa are that she a hypotiest that tires to resurface the memory of the killer to Darkside.The killer learns this and see's her as a threat to his &quot;fun&quot; so almost kills her to make a statment.Darkside goes vigalanty to try and find him so he deal with the killer himself.

causr it's Sauron! &nbsp;you cant kill someone this important, (i hope.) &nbsp;Agent Webster i wouldn't be too surprised if he's actually dead, but Sauron... &nbsp;plus there's the fact that the killer says he burned them and therefore doesn't have any evidence, which just doesn't fit the profiel.

The murder of Mecha-Kumonga and a copy cat killing (Matt Cookson) while he's in jail is mentioned and JJ ordered him released. Everything should be in place for the story to continue, be it with the Mods (who seem to be scattered about when the identity of the killer becomes known) to Battrarules and BattraKing dealing with Leatherface. Desu, Jenny and Khan and Darkside can also continue from where they were left off.

Ubergeek is a logical choice to take over as Mayor (what with Gamingboy in a coma) so the Guardian angle might could help him with his new job. He did real good in the story so far. There's also Miyako in his life and a few details from WHEN THE DUST SETTLED that could come into play later.
R2K can also expand from this tale at the Club one. Prince of Space has also shown a lot of insight by bringing up important points so he's not just a &quot;good ol' boy&quot;/Cheers type character.

I think Rado needs to &quot;step up in the world&quot; and get out of the Random Arms. How about setting up the Shogun project at the Fan Nest when it gets annexed? The town will have this vast place ready to populate. Robotics and such may sound contrary to the &quot;artists colony&quot; idea but it's also a very leading edge, creative thing. Roostville is noted for its kaiju focus. I think the Nest can better explore/house the more creative &quot;industries&quot;.

I really don't mind what happens to the Slayer in battle, I just want to get at least a couple of swings in on Sauron. If you want Angillis to defeat the Slayer in battle, that's fine. That's the better setup for the beginning of the RPG anyway. I do have an idea that could make us both happy in the longrun, though. If you'd like, I could PM it to you and we can see if we can come to an agreement.

Oh, and by the way, the Slayer in Baldur's Gate 2 probably doesn't match the description in my post. When I first saw the Slayer in BG2, my uncle was the main character, and had a Cloak of Displacement, so when he turned into the Slayer, it took the properties of the Cloak and looked all blurry. I think it looked like a generic demon from the game, but I just posted that description because I think the Slayer would look cooler like that instead of every other demon I had seen before.

That is why it almost killed Rado....Lord K, would you mind deleting your last post? Me and Rado have a little bout to go through befor NA goes into the Theater. Also, NA's powers ARE limited, unlike Angillis' when his energy is out of controll. The only attacks he has are his Uber Eye Beam as Rado calls it, his Tornado Breath as I call it, and his energy talon things. Okay, just work on that, and devle alittle bit more into a mini world, while me and Rado get this bout between Nightmare Angillis and Slayer under way.

Don't worry about the dialogue NA says or the posts getting out of order. When the tale is formatted for the archive, his actions can do all the talking, so to speak. Brandon can also say what's going on with NA. That is a good way of doing non-speaking characters and there are a lot of dramatic elements to play with here.

Despite the attack on him in the hospital, Space Varen is alive. After this tale is completed, SEVERAL profiles will probably bear updating.
"Gamingboy was poisoned during a banquet at his mansion and ended up in a coma from which he has not yet awakened. During his incapacity, Vice Mayor Ubergeek is fulfilling the responsibilites of the Mayor's office." That has been added to his profile on the website already so that aspect of the town is covered.
Jet Jaguar's origin has also been hinted at and should start unfolding. Everything should work out just fine. ;)

And ultimately, Desutoroia did ask for a wish, and Khandejifer was created with one soul purpose encoded into him: Destroy Desutoroia. And that's what The Universal Dominator had to gain, Desutoroia's death. And the reasons why the Council of Death would benefit from Desutoroia's destruction will be revealed in Roostville The Series DX. It's obvious they want him dead for something after all, they used Hellspawn to kill him once (The Murder of Desutoroia), Leviathan to turn him evil (The Resurrection of Desutoroia), and created Khandejifer to eliminate him (The Separation of Desutoroia).

One thing to look at. As I pointed out in the Resurrection of Desutoroia Discussion Thread, was that in the story itself Melkor's subconscious travelled into the future of Roostville. Well, a possible future if he were to lose against Apocalypse. In that future segment Melkor meets Khandejifer who tells the origins of Desutoroia's Separation (which is different from S: DxK's version). Khandejifer in this alternate future is also portrayed different than the present incarnation. The Khandejifer from Resurrection was a demonic entity (and Desutoroia's evil half, just like in the present story) and his goals are different. He has no intention of eradicating his limited body and purifying the Earth of the wretched human scum that walk on it's surface. Instead the Khandejifer from Resurrection realized that the human race was on the verge of extinction and had plans to recreate the enter race using clone technology. The people would look up to him and serve him as GOD. But even with it's differences Resurrection's future scene shows one thing that could be incorporated into the present round robins. The world without Desutoroia...

eh, yeah, funny story on that. about a week before it was due, i asked her one last time just to make sure she knew about it, even though she had said yes to using a Roostville story 3 OTHER STINKING TIMES, and whadayaknow? she says no after saying yes 3 other times! so then i have a week to not only do the book report, but find and read the book first! i ended up with the most boring book ever written, and wrote a book report that showed it. well, if my next teacher lets me do a Roostville story, i'll use either this or 48 Hours Til Apocalypse. either one are good.

Remember for future reference there are still certain characters who have not (and will not) know of Khandejifer. Rodan2000, The Jalepino Gang, Darkside Reject, Gamingboy, etc aren't aware of Khandejifer's existence.

The RMB doesn't really know about the Khandejifer character per se, but they are aware of a "second Desu." Would that count as knowing of Khandejifer?
