<font color='#348781'>i was wondering, if you have this game, do you like it or do you think it is a total waste of game? i think it was horrible. the single player mode is horrible and i can't stand that you have to repeatedly fight the same bosses. multiplayer mode may have been better but since i don't have other people to play with 24/7, it was a waste to me.

<font color='#FF0000'>Yes, I agree totally. &nbsp; The game was alright but extremely repetitive. &nbsp;I am sure that the multi-player mode is much better.

<font color='#0000FF'>so you have at least four other people to play this game with. see there is my problem, i don't have others to play it with. i also don't like the story to much. if nintendo was to bring back a final fantasy game to their console they need to try to have a better storyline. sorry, but i just can't get into this game with only one player.

BTW: I'm not dead yet! just been busy, i plan to be on here more once i get this linkshell thing sorted out, i'm pretty much taking over every part of it, the owner isn't on much &amp; the undisputed &quot;leader&quot; is quiting, so i'm taking over that, &amp; the website will most likely fall to me to run so my time is pressed to say the least.

1. Squall- he reminded me of myself for some reason...

2. Sephiroth- most badass villain of the series, his Super Nova attack shows how much potential he has on whiping out the entire humen race

3. Cloud- cool sword, cool design, cool attitude

4. Rinoa- even though she may not be real, her character is a &quot;perfect girl&quot; for any guy...she also looks like a girl i had a crush on in my freshman year...

5. Tidus- Although he may look like a wussy, he still kicks ***

6. Yuna- yet another &quot;perfect girl&quot;...

7. Zell- He literally kicks ***, not as much as Squall, Cloud, or Seifer, but he still kicks butt...

8. Kefka- a VERY sick minded person

9. Seifer- he was pretty badass himself, but he reminds me of Sephiroth too much, except for his character...

10. Rikku- I find her hilarious and sometimes annoying, but she seems to be cool

<font color='#000080'>Auron, first of all. Badass and emotionally detatched, not to mention a wicked sword and really cool trench coat.

Bahamut. He's been my favorite Summon pretty much all along. He looked his best in FFIX, and was most lethal(in battle, I'm disregarding the cut scenes where you laid waste to an entire navy) in FFX. Gotta love that Overdrive attack...

Sora, honestly, and yes, I consider Kingdom Hearts to be a Final Fantasy. He did his job well in KH1, and if you've seen the trailer for KH2, you know that he's been given a badass makeover. And you gotta love the Keyblade.

And who could forget Cloud? I've always liked him, but after seeing the trailer for Advent Children... oh man. I can't even begin to describe the awesomeness.

Speaking of FF7, Red XIII has always been a favorite. He's just really cool, what with the biting. Sled Fang saved my arse so many times in battle...

Zidane from FFIX. Only Genome with a soul, save Kuja, and those Thief Swords were just plain awesome.

Oh yes, Ramza and Orlandu from Tactics. Orlandu was just plain badass, and Ramza was a likable protagonist. One you almost can't help but relate to. Plus he got new armor at the end of each stage of the game, looking cooler everytime.

<font color='#348781'>Sephiroth- DUH!! why would you not like him. Incredibly powerful, and he kills people without thinking twice. He also killed the midgar snake with no problem early in the game.

Shadow(FF3-FF6)- Always been one of my favorites, you just don't see a ninja in a FF game that often.

Cloud- Huge sword, strange at times, but his story was interesting.

Mog- It's a moogle! He was one of he strongest charecter's in FF3/FF6. Plus he was cool and had a catchy theme song.

Seifer- Cool atitude, awesome gunblade, the trenchcoat was a nice touch too.

That's all I can think of right now.

<font color='#810541'>That Midgar snake pissed me off. Anyways...

Squall: Reminds me a lot of myself, plus gunblades kick ***!

Rinoa: Reminds me a lot of the girl I'm in love with, so hah.

Ramza: I don't remember much from Tactics, but damn was Ramza awesome!

Vincent: My favorite character from FFVII and from the fighting game Ehrgeiz. I loved his transformations.

Reno: My fave member of the Turks, he just oozed with style.

Cloud: Of course, how could you not like him?

Gilgamesh: The one from FFV. He's hilarious, but badass too.

The Weapons: Badass dragonlike monsters that were originally only in the American version of FFVII, and hard as hell to fight, too! I was awestruck with every encounter.

Black Mage: HADOKEN!! Okay, that was an 8-Bit Theater reference, but I love the Black Mages!

Yeah, and you gotta love the Weapons in FFVII:

Daimond- Never in my life have i ever seen a concept like this! the Daimond's design is very unique and looks very menacing. He is also HUGE, he's big enough to take on Kaijus i think...

Ultimate- The most kick *** weapon but also one of the smallest, but it is one powerful force to reckon with. Plus, i really like the design, it looks some kind of four-legged demonic dragon from hell.

Ruby- dont let his scrawny appearance fool you, this weapon packs a huge punch, it overpowers the other weapons and can cause a really big mess on the heros.

Emerald- first time i saw this thing i thought it was an underwater ship or something, thats untill i touched it and it triggered a battle! and damn, i got my butt whooped so hard by this thing.

????- I have no idea what this weapon's name is but it got its head blown off in this one cutscene, i forgot where it was but he was an ocean dweller, so he was shot ashore.

I coasted through the first time I fought Ruby. Somehow through some weird combination of materia, one of my characters was invincible. The other two got sucked down into the sand, and I started casting Knights of the Round with the third. Every time Ruby responded with Ultima, it did zero damage. Don't know how it happened and I was never able to duplicate it.

I believe that was diamond. Somehow he had his head blown off and he kept going. If it isn't diamond then the two are very similar in design, because i only remember there bieng three weapons:

The desert one- Ruby

The flying one- Ulitmate

The swimming one- Diamond.

I only remember those three, and never heard anything about a fourth.

Nooo lol Daimond is the the one that went after Midgar and blasted it with those things on his shoulder, and then was killed by having that huge cannon shoot right through him. I think your talking about Emerald Weapon.

As for the one that got his head blown off, he is no Daimond weapon, this weapon we're talking about has a tail like a mermaid, and is blue with a huge spike on its head, ill look for pics of it when i have the time.

Argh. &nbsp;I can't believe I forgot him. It's been so long since I played it, I must have forgot.

Anyway, take what I said before and substitute emerald where I put diamond. Emerald must have been the one launching the attack on Junon, and then getting his &quot;head&quot; shot off. He just doesn't look the same afterwards because, after taking a hit like that, would you look like that?

My speculation is that Emerald adapted to his new form after being hit by the canon, it just didn't kill him like it did Diamond because the canon was not using the mana power to become powered up. Also the weapon that is right near Junon is emerald, and he stayed in that area after the attack. If there was a mystery weapon attacking Junon, wouldn't Emeralad then:

A) Fight the mystery weapon, informing him to get off his land?

B) Help the mystery weapon attack Junon?

That's why I think that is Emerald attacking Junon, hw just looks different tohe next time you see him because of the canon.

There are FIVE Weapons total in FF7. Ultimate is the black one who attacks the Highwind and Mideel. Diamond is the one who gets blasted by the Mako Cannon at Midgar. Emerald is the underwater optional boss. Ruby is the optional boss in the sand near Gold Saucer. And the most elusive is Sapphire, whom you never fight. He has a cool scene though where he swims up to the city of Junon and is blasted to death by their cannon. He reminds me of Dagahra from Mothra 2.

And in FF8 there were two monsters by the name of Ultima Weapon (also the name of several characters' most powerful weapons) and Omega Weapon. Actually, I'm sure they appeared in more games than that, but I can't remember them all.

And getting to the point of the topic....

Terra - The most memorable of the two dimensional characters. I'd love to see what a Nomura* redesign of her would look like.

Cloud - Must I even explain? He's the most badass of all the characters.

Aerith - Man, she's hot, in a kind way. Too bad she had to die.

Tifa - Also hot, but in an ***-kicking way. Has nice... erm... features.

Yuffie - Ditto. Her spunky attitude is a turn on, in a jailbait kind of way. LOL.

Red XIII - He's cool. Except that one time he said &quot;gadzooks&quot; or something stupid like that.

Cid - The FF7 incarnation that is. This guy lights a stick of dynamite with his cig for a special attack, how cool is that?

Sephiroth - Perhaps overrated, but still the best and most unique &nbsp;FF villain ever.

Squall - Also reminds me of myself, and has a totally awesome weapon, the gunblade.

Yuna - Something about her. She's one of the stronger female characters. Her boyfriend is a loser though.

Rikku - Basically FFX's incarnation of Yuffie, or maybe a Selphie who isn't weak.

Sora - Yeah, he's not so bad. His KH2 design is more mature, and he IS down with Cloud and Squall... and Donald and Goofy....

*the guy who designed every other character above

<font color='#348781'>Sapphire... Yeah, ok, I remember him. Now. I may have heard something about it before but it didn't stick with me, he didn't play a big part. plus he must have been the weakest weapon. He died after one shot from junon canon, which was slightly weak. But I guess anything would die after being shot in the head.

I'm hoping to see RedXIII, Vincent, Rinoa, Tifa, Zell, Yuna, Barret, Rikku, and Kefka.

When I heard Sephiroth, Cloud, Squall, and a bunch of other charecters were in it, I definintly had to have it. Oh well, &nbsp;I'll get it one day.

Default Re: Favorite Final Fantasy Characters

oooh man... where to begin?

In no particular order:
-Cloud: Though he's a bit over-used by Square, he's still one of the most memorable FF characters ever. His "Don't give a ****" attitude was great.

-Kefka: Want to spout off about how Sephiroth kills people without a second thought? Kefka was doing that stuff way before the idea for Sephiroth was even concieved. Poisons an entire castle for the FUN of it, kills the man who many have come to believe is his own father just for the sheer joy of it, and intended to wipe out all life so he can have that moment of eternal silence. Kefka is not well, and he unfortunately gets alotta power to play with to fufill his darkest wishes.

-Sephiroth: Though I think he's highly overrated by MANY people... he still is one of the most original FF villains of all time. Mainly cause when you stack him against the other villains that came before him... yeah... very different from the pack. Plus his cameo battle in KH1 kicked ***.

-Auron: A badass... nuff said. Fights with one arm tucked into his jacket, cause that's his stronger arm. So he obviously doesn't take any of these enemies as threats.

-Barret: A black man with a gun for an arm. What's cooler than that? He's got an attitude that can easily match Cloud's in the beginning. Though they kinda went lax with his jive talk after the first chapter. Big sonuva***** too.

-Terra: In a game that totally broke from tradition (no crystals, no chosen warriors, etc.), Terra stood out from the crowd as a truelly sad and tragic character. She's a product of two worlds and has to make a choice in the end.

-Edgar: Man is this guy a pimp or what? Not only does he rule over the coolest castle ever concieved, but he's got shitloads of awesome tools at his disposal. Chainsaws, Drills, and the awesome AutoCrossbow (my favorite).

-Steiner: Such a hardass and total square. He's fun to watch as the story goes on. But all business when it counts in battle.

-The Cids: A Cid in almost every Final Fantasy game. My favorites would have to be the Cid from FF4, as he got exploded by bombs... and slept the effect off in bed. That's BADASS. My other favorite would have to the Cid from FF7 & KH1 of course. Just a salty sonuva***** whose attitude stays throughout the entire game. Course there's also the Cid from FF9, who has the worst of luck it seems, always in some kind of beast form or another. Some of the funniest scenes and scenarios in FF9 involve him. Then my last favorite Cid would have to be Orlando (his nickname is T.G. Cid) from Final Fantasy Tactics, mainly cause he's an all around BADASS.

-Aeris (Aerith): The cute flower girl. Nuff said.

-Tifa: The brawler chick with the nice tracks of land. Why she wasn't in KH1 has yet to be revealed, cause she's a badass in her own right, and sexy to boot (*just realizes he made a bad pun*).

-Squall: A Jerk till Rinoa warms his seemingly detached soul. But even then he doesn't seem to care much about anything and still comes off at times as a major jerk. But it works with him. That gunblade kicks *** as well.

-Zidane: Swashbuckling kind of hero who kicks *** and hits on the chicks. Not to mention that he's got a frikkin tail too. He is usually in the funniest scenes in that game and has got a nice different attitude than the last two heroes to come before him. Mainly cause he actually CARES about others... or at least when a hot chick is involved.

-Freya: Not bad for a rat-chick. Kicks lotsa *** and is probably the coolest dragoon since Kain.

Ok there's just way too many for me to fully list here... so let's just say I got allota favorite characters. K?

Sure, Kefka killed a lot of people, but he was weird. He dressed, acted, and laughed strangely. I do consider the poisoning one of the coolest things he did, but he was still weird.

Don't forget Sabin! He had one of the strongest attacks in FF III/VI, The Bum Rush. Too bad he was a little stupid at times.

Default Favorite Final Fantasy Games

Hard to imagine that at one point... Square wasn't the big entertainment corporation that it is now... at one point in VG history... Enix were the top dogs of the RPG VG scene, with their Dragon Warrior games, and Square wasn't even a blip on the map. Things switched, and eventually... things merged.

Though it has had it's ups and downs and just plain oddball moments... the Final Fantasy series continues to capture peoples' imaginations. There will always, of course, be the ONE game that started it all for people, that got them into the series.

So which were your favorite FF games? Which ones do you look back on with happy memories, and a constant willingness to return to that world time and again?

-SXA's list-
-Final Fantasy 6 (3 in early 90's US): The one that got me hooked. The one that got me into the series. The one that turned me into an RPG fan. I don't care what anyone says, or tries to prove to me, but FF6 will always be the absolute best FF to me. A medieval world mixed with some pretty cool technology (Figaro Castle and it's submerging ability, Edgar's tools, the Magitek Armor, Vector, the awesome airships, etc.). Basically a war between Magic and Technology, and a small rebel force against an empire (sounds familiar do it not?). It was also the first "Non-Crystal" Final Fantasy, whereas the first five before it had revolved completely around that plot concept... Final Fantasy 6 was about War and the return of Magic. A world I will always enjoy returning to.

-Favorite Characters: Shadow, Terra, Edgar, Locke, Sabin, and Cyan. Can't forget Kefka, the sickest bastich to ever live in a VG.

-Final Fantasy 7: For alotta people, and I mean ALOT OF people, this was their first Final Fantasy game. For a huge majority of people, this was their first glimpse into what Squaresoft can do. It's not hard to figure out why this one is so appealing either. A drastically different Final Fantasy world, yet in some aspects... still the same. Colorful & Different Characters (some of which weren't anymore "two dimensional" than FF6's characters), and just like every Final Fantasy game after FF3(J), you got to know your characters, know a bit about their backstories, and what had led them up to this point. In a drastically different world with drastically different characters, the call for a drastically different boss came too. While really no different in story handling than any of his post FF3(J) predacessors (Kefka, X-Death, Golbez), he was still a much more different villain. Not some evil knight in armor, not some strange clown-ish guy, not some evil ruler of the big bad empire... but a lone warrior that was the result of men tampering in places they should not, a man who feels wronged, snaps, and falls from grace.

Not to mention the epic storyline, lasting over 3 discs, Final Fantasy 7 was a huge undertaking for anyone who popped it into their PSX. Unlike it's predacessors, it could tell a very long and provoking story. Could take it's time. While there are some of us who feel it gets way too overrated at times, we won't deny that it was a superb gaming experience, and left memories firmly impanted in our minds.

-Favorite Characters: Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, Barret, Cid, and yeah... Sephiroth (though I'm not all "Seph iz th b35t j0!!!!").

-Final Fantasy 9: Ahhh... Final Fantasy 9. Square's tribute to it's past games, the old skool ones in particular. It's just a fun game to play, and a fun world to interact with. Drastically different than the last two Final Fantasies, whereas they took place in semi-modern/futuristic worlds, Final Fantasy 9 was a breath of fresh air for those of us who also loved the older FFs as well, as it went back to it's roots and went with a more medieval flavor. Course there was still some cool technology and awesome gadgets here and there... but still a much more traditional Final Fantasy world. Great characters, interesting plot, a fun world to explore, and interesting twists. The main hero of the story, Zidane, was also a big departure from the previous two heroes... who were for the most part (specially Squall)... big jerks at times. Zidane was your basic swashbuckling thief hero, but was a guy who actually cared about and wanted to help people, specially the cute girls he ran into all the time. Whereas Squall and Cloud were kinda... clammed up and personal about their feelings to the girls they encountered... Zidane was always hitting on the women... and never kept his feelings for some of them secret. Though the main overall villain of this game was... let's just call him... DIFFERENT, even moreso than Sephiroth... but not in that kind of way. Kuja was... odd... but still the trademark villain. Egotistical, Cunning, and so full of himself. Course all is not as it seems in the world of Final Fantasy 9. There's a much bigger picture at play here... and that mystery unfolds overtime. A fun game and a great departure from the new norm.

-Favorite Characters: Zidane, Dagger, Freya, Steiner, Vivi, Adamant, Regent Cid, and Beatrix.

These are my absolute favorite Final Fantasies... what are yours?

Final Fantasy Legend II on Game Boy. HOURS of min-maxing fun. The characters were pathetic, the weapons depleted when used, but man did I kill a lot of time this way.

Also, I like Final Fantasy Tactics (both original and Game Boy Advance version)

All the others just bore me.
