If beams/special attacks were disabled, I would immediately hand the match to Gamera.

But, they aren't. Godzilla's beam and Gamera's fireballs are roughly equal in terms of destructive power (reference: Tokyo Tower destruction in GOTU and TSOS). Godzilla laughs off having his own beam explode in his face (Reference: TSOS). Therefore, Godzilla is not going to be seriously threatened by Gamera's fireballs.

The reverse is NOT true. Godzilla's beam isn't only heat (which we know is not a threat to Gamera), it also hits like a sledgehammer and sears with radiation. True, it won't blast clear through Gamera like Legion's radiation ray...but on the other hand, Godzilla can effortlessly *hit* Gamera with it.

Either Gamera will just get smashed around by the beam until he passes out, or he will retreat and forfeit. As long as Godzilla has the beam Gamera cannot effectively attack him. Godzilla can even pick him out of the air.

I am in agreement with Ang55 here (OMG! THE APOCALYPSE! )

I mean, Kiryu-Goji's beam is so deadly and his defenses are only trumped by GMK Godzilla in relative terms. Gamera has a lot going for him though. Those blasts CAN do damage, especially if they hit his AZC wound. And Gamera just refuses to go down even with the most hidous wounds. But how much will he take? That beam blasted Kiryu away like a toy. Gamera is in trouble there, especially since he is NOT one to dodge. Right now I favor Kiryu-Godzilla, but it is subject to change.

Blah, Godzillas beam will put the hurt on Gamera. But, luckily Gamera isn't a foe that will stand back and spam beams at you. He gets in your face and he has what it takes to give this Godzilla a melee mauling.

I'm gonna' bring in speciffic points tomorrow (it's 10:00 at the momment). But Gameras damage soak and tenacious melee will (barely) win this match.

I don't understand what Godzilla's scar has to do with anything. Gamera's fireballs are not precise weapons at any rate.

But, luckily Gamera isn't a foe that will stand back and spam beams at you. He gets in your face and he has what it takes to give this Godzilla a melee mauling.

This is irrelevant. This Godzilla is the dirtiest fighter on the planet. He shoots beams at opponents who are just getting up. He shoots beams at little kids and innocent nurses. He shoots beams right into people's faces at point-blank range. He shoots at people's arms to get out of grapples. At any given moment, if Godzilla isn't shooting his beam, he's probably about to shoot his beam. How does Gamera beat that? He wouldn't even have been able to engage Legion if Legion wasn't such a do-nothing, and he wouldn't have been able to engage Iris if Iris hadn't forgotten about its beams.

I know Gamera is going to be hulred, but will that bring him down? Probably not. And teh scar is still an issue. If one of those blasts hits there, Goji will be in serious pain.

Not as much pain as when Godzilla's beam will be nailing him over and over.

That beam will be dealing serious damage to Gamera.

I said nearly any, not all Godzillas. FW Godzilla, GMK Godzilla, Burning Godzilla and Minya are the only Godzilla's I could see having a better endurance.

Alrighty, I'm back. This is just what I have to say;

Gamera, in a melee match, would brutalize this Godzilla. Kiryu-Goji is slow to react, letting Kiryu blast him with missles. Gamera, on the other hand, is tenacious. In all three of his fights he charges immediately into the opponent. Usually opening up with a barrage of Plasma Fireballs and is willing to shoot Kiryu-Goji in the face. (Gamera 3; shoots a Gyaos at pointblank range).

Gameras ability to withstand damage is what tips the scales in his favor. Puntured through the neck, shoulder being blown open, organs being peirced, blowing his own hand off... Gamera can take any damage that Godzilla will throw at him. This goes without saying the vast intelligence differance here, Gamera is rediculously smarter then Kiryu-Goji.

Has anyone considered the Legion explosion? I'm not an expert, but Gamera was shot in the face by that thing. Although, he was essentially knocked out by it, he should've had his upper torso torn off. But he was intirely intact; if Gamera can survive not being ripped in half by that, then this Godzillas breath weapon is peanuts in comparison.

Or, has anyone thought about Gamera flying into Godzilla? maybe doing that saw-attack? He was willing to fly into Legions legs inorder to keep them from crushing the helicoptors. It would not be above him to do the saw-attack in a lower altitude (And that saw would be hell on Gojis' chest scar.)

I know that Gamera was down for the count after it, I'm not denying that. BUT, my point is that he should've been ripped in half by that explosion, even sent flying into the distance. But his body was in one peice and just covered in (what I assume is) ash.

To me, that always looks like a ressurection scene, hence the claws breaking.
