Question about GRA and GvsH

I never really understood why Godzilla Riads Again was retitled Gigantis, the Fire Monster. I know the producer was going to make somekind of monster movie called the Vlocano Monsters by editing GRA, but instead just ended up dubing the movie and releacing it under a new title. Why? What did that get him? I mean, Godzilla's name isn't even mentioned in the US version. Why did they call him, and in fact, that movie, "Gigantis"?

Also, it's said in the film Godzilla vs. Hedorah (corest me if I'm worng), that because Hedorah's nothing but sludge, his eyes are his life sorce, so to speak. Which makes sence since near the end Godzilla pulls the eyes out of Hedorah and destroys them. But, here's the thing; soon after Goji destroys the eyes, its life enerhy, it comes back to life, flying away from Godzilla as if nothing hppened, and he has eyes! Eh? How does all this work out? Is this a mistake?

One other thing, I'm need of a picture of Hedorah in his tadpole form; you know, the little one, like the ones Dr. Yano experiments with.

Warner Bros. could not get the rights to the name "Godzilla" so they just named it Gigantis the Fire Monster.

no, they could have named it "Godzilla the Fire Monster", but choose not to because they thought an independent film would sell better. The WB thing is just a G-Myth, just like the Goji winning the fight in KKvs.G.

Somewhat, but your leaving out some needed information.

Revenge of Godzilla did well commercially but it had little impact in Japan. Which caused concern for the possibility of more Godzilla films. When it was brought to the US, the distributor got the great idea to change the name from Godzilla to Gigantis, which really hurt the commercial value the film would have had under the name of Godzilla. This is also why the movie is quite often overlooked in the Godzilla series.

No this isn't a mistake and I admit I was first confused by this too. But here's what happened: Do you remember when Godzilla was spinning Hedorah around and around and that giant ball of sludge flew off of him? That later formed another Hedorah and became the Hedorah you saw attacking all those cars. It later joined with the Hedorah it spawned from. This was the Hedorah that flew out of final form Hedorah.

No kinding. I never that, though last time I watched it I wondered if that little Hedorah took on life of its own. So wait... If a peace of sludge can come to life, it can grow its own life-giving eyes? Well I guess it could, since it had eyes while eating the cars. But even so, Godzilla destroyed adult Hedorah's eyes. So did he/she/it just grow new ones before forever being kiled?


Also, I just read that WB could have used "Godzilla" in their title because that was now Toho's official translastion of "Gojira", but WB was under the impression that the compeny (sorry, I forgot the name just now) that released "Godzilla, King of the Monsters" own the name, and didn't want a legal case on their hands. Is this true? Wait... the produser of Gigantis, the fire monster, didn't he say what the real reasion was?

Another GRA question... why did WB dub over Godzilla's roar with Anguirus's roar? That was SO annoying to me. Man, especially since Godzilla's roar at that time was so deep and menacing.

WB didn't dub the film. They bought the rights from an independent company who'd already dubbed it.
