Just thought I'd bring up some thoughts I discussed with Cole and Tom over IM....

If it does, I was thinking: if the AZC disperses/negates energy within the targeted area, wouldn't it be possible for it to simply cancel out GKG's forcefield, and maybe penetrate it the cost of reduced effectiveness?

Now here's the thing...we saw what an AZC with "reduced effectiveness" did to Kiryu-Goji. It messed up his chest and gave him a wound that hadn't completely healed by the time he returned.

Now, its been a long time since I saw ROM3, but if GKG is really arrogant enough to let his opponent attack him, even charge an attack like the AZC, then I can definitely see Kiryu winning this. I sincerely doubt GKG has armor on a par with Kiryu-Goji, so it seems possible to me that even a toned-down AZC shot will cause major injury at least. But that depends on if my hypothesis regarding the AZC negating GKG's shield has any merit.

Kiryu doesn't have a nuclear reactor, or some mystery power source, so yeah, it makes sense to carry him.

And that would also mean Kiryu has very LIMITED fuel. How long would it be able to fly around before dropping like a rock?

Long enough to fly about a hundred kilometers to the Japan Trench AND use his boosters to dodge an attack AND fly from place to place within the city.

I mean, is this a trick question or what?

It still doesn;t make sense that they carry him though. <.< And teh crew was skeptical on using the boosters to drop Kiryu into the city faster.

I will buy that. But it will be a lot closer than if the shield blocks it.

"Skeptical" is an interesting way to put it. They just seemed briefly surprised to me.

(Interestingly, the cable releases highlighted themselves on the screen, giving Akane the idea. I think this is a case of Kiryu communicating with her.)
