Don't get upset when people assume the wrong parts are sarastic, then. =)
Check this out -
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has predicted that Britian, Israel and the United States would eventually disappear from the world like the Egyptian pharaonic kings.
"The oppressive powers will disappear while the Iranian people will stay. Any power that is close to God will survive while the powers who are far from God will disappear like the pharaohs," he said Wednesday, according to Iranian news agencies.
"Today, it is the United States, Britain and the Zionist regime which are doomed to disappear as they have moved far away from the teachings of God," he said in a speech in the western town of Javanroud.
"It is a divine promise."
Ahmadinejad is a freak, a hell-bent radical muslum that loathes anything western and not Islam. He has no right to come near WTC, and I'm glad he was refused.

Re: Remembering September 11th...
Ahmadinejad came to Columbia today and questioned 9/11 and the Holocaust.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070924/ap_on_re_us/iran_us.
Brilliant, man, brilliant. Antagonize a US leader hell-bent on war with you! >.< Ahmadinejad is not the problem though, the chief Ayatollah of Iran is. I have a few comments to make on this. First of all, Iranians aren't Arabs, they are descendants of the Medo-Persians. They used to worship Ahuramadza and Ahriman. It's the Ayatollah regime and their ancestors that moved away from the faith of their fathers due to the conquest of the Sassanids by the Caliphate. Mr. Holocaust-denial needs to research his history.
Second, Ahmadinejad is a nutcase, but he won't give the Israelis any more than trash-talk. Why? Israel has 300 nuclear bombs. Give Israel one itty-bitty chance, and Iran is green glass. Ahmadinejad may be nuts, but he wouldn't simply destroy the Iranian theocracy by Mushroom cloud. Now, the Revolutionary Guards, OTOH....
Third, fighting this nutcase, with the resources we have now is logistically impossible. Without some form of draft we would never field the large numbers of troops necessary to control the Iranians. Iran is larger than Iraq. The fact that the supposedly-greatest military in the world depends on mercenaries to do the fighting for it, (see the Blackwater scandal)....
Any such war with Iran would implode the military and then comes hell in a handbasket.

Eh...
The only thing I disagree with is the people's refusal to listen to him. I don't care if he is stark-raving mad, he was demorcraticially elected(so was Hitler, Stalin to an extent). He deserves to be heard. Everyone does. Do I think he should be shot? Most likely. He's a bit further down the list than some others, but he's there.

I liked the part where he said that there are no homosexuals in Iran.
Mainly, because he forgot the footnote that he killed them "all".

Re: Remembering September 11th...
Ahmadinejad is a radical dictator but I think what the Columbia University president said with his opening remarks was sheer stupidity. Despite what he thinks of the Iranian president, he is a guest to the university that Bollinger INVITED and while he should not give him praise, he should just have introduced him and have the students figure out what Ahmandinejad was all about rather than give them a biased prologue. There are better ways to make a man look like a fool than to insult him and it comes off as condescending on Bollinger's part and completely unprofessional.
If we, Western Civilization, want to perceive ourselves as above those in the Middle East in terms of morality and class then we must act like it. These comments are only more fodder to fuel the fire that divides us from the Middle East, it's anti-progressive, simple-minded, and unnecessary. He treated a leader of a nation as if he were some kind of freak show.

He is a freak show, but I agree with you.
A) He never should have been invited.
B) Ahmadinejad can very easily go to Iran and spin this whole debacle how he chooese. He can say his country was assaulted, or say he was able to proclaim the greatness of Iran to the USA with a massive audience and response. The real idiots here were the ones who invited. No one had to prove anything bad about Ahmadinejad - we already knew.
C) The introduction included a statement I thought was insulting to anyone - "astonishingly uneducated" or not, you can't blame someone's denial of the Holocaust if they never been taught it. I realize Ahmadinejad knows about it and simply denied/danced around it, but you can't insult someone's education and make it a point of attack.
C) Iran got to pursue their agenda in our nation; they have talked about wiping us out, calling us the enemy, etc.
Why give him the chance?

Re: Remembering September 11th...
I didn't see anything in the interview to suggest evolution came up. He was denying the Holocaust, or trying to but he wouldn't answer anything directly a la former president Clinton. I'm just surprised he didn't ask what the definition of "is" was.
EDIT: He never should have been invited.

Iran - Warning-graphic pictures of cruelty.
Despite people's feelings on the topic of homosexuality and Iran, I think we can all agree that Ahmadinejad's rule over Iran, (which is only at the behest of the Ayatollah) is not a good place to be gay. I don't think even the worst US homophobe would condone the sort of crap that occurs in Iran to its gay community on a daily basis. In the USA, at least the worst that happens to us gays is that we get the crap pounded out of us by self-righteous straights. In Iran....
gays get this:
http://direland.typepad.com/direland..._kill_me_.html.
Hardly no gays in Iran, President Amen-a-jihad!
Please don't ban me for this....

Do even actually have any gay bashers around here?

I was using hyperbole. I did not call any particular members gay bashers. I should change the title.

To repeat one of my earlier points, Mumu Armored Dinner Jacket is quite powerless. The Ayatollah also gave him a warning. If that man continues acting stupid, Khamanei may make him have a little "accident."

I realize this is a double-post, but BUMP due to the date:
Seven years ago, hate struck our shores. Let's put aside a little snippiness about which turd is better to vote for or not or which steroid-pumping team is going to beat another to remember the 3,000 lost in the 9/11 attacks.

You don't understand the concept of the shockwave too much, do you?
Or shoddy construction to handle 21st Century aftermath of terror attacks?
Incidentally, from what I've heard of the original plan for 9/11, the original plan included hitting not just the Towers and the Pentagon, but also the Capitol, and a couple of other targets I can't remember, including possibly the White House.
Egads, now there's a thought. The President survives, but the entire line of succession except him has just given up the ghost. Wonder if that's ever been done in fiction before? Might make an interesting twist in succession fiction.

You don't understand the concept of reality too much, do you?
Are you seriously implying that a plane hitting a building at subsonic speed will exert a cascading destructive force that will ripple through the atmosphere and structurally weaken another building causing it to fall down hours later?
Maybe one of you should actually read the incompetent explanation the government supplied to the public. It's ridiculous but it sure beats crap like this.
