Re: More gamera movies? What should they be like?
Brand New seies hands down forget about the new millenium Gamera. To child like for my tastes. Give me gamera with the tusks. Lets move it in a darker tone to appeal to adult audiences. Have an all out attack movie. Round up every gamera monster and make a movie. Everyones doing it now. Godzilla in final wars and Ultraman in his new movie.

I say Start a brand new series or trilogy. Leave the old stuff alone. Maybe make a sequel to GTB but that is all... And give Gamera his voice back.

Use the Heisei Trilogy as a standard and move from there. No more of this other junk that swarms the Gamera series and going back to the Old Guard like GTB did. So, make a new series... or don't bother. I doubt will get anything like the Heisei Trilogy again even if they tried.

^They can find something new. I am sure of it. Though here's a thought: since Shimpei Hayashida seems to be doing good kaiju wise (his film REIGO actualy got a sequel RAIGA), they should allow him to do a real film version of Hayashida's "Gamera 4: Truth". Only have Kaneko be a producer, Higuchi a SFX supervisor, and Ito as script supervisor.

Re: More gamera movies? What should they be like?
As much as I disliked Gamera: The Brave, I could see a good sequel or series of sequels to this film happen.
If not, I'd say they should do a sequel to G3. I hate that stupid cliff-hanger ending!
Gamera doesn't NEED 50 different continuities like Godzilla. 3 are enough and they should just do movies based on the three already-established series, rather than a whole new one.
Unless if they did kind of a Gamera: Final Wars, that would be kinda kool, in my opinion.

Well, they sorta did have a Gamera: Final Wars, with Super Monster Gamera. Except it was all stock footage. And it sucked.

personally, I think, beneath all of the stock footage, there was a good film hidden within. I think it would be kinda cool if they remade it.

I think it had potential as an idea but the execution left a lot to be desired. I liked the space super heroines but that kid is pure evil.

Agreed. GTB may be considered a "kid's movie" by many but I think the story also appeals to adults. It's one of those rare films these days that you could take kids to and enjoy it with them IMO. A SUPER MONSTER remake might be a little harder to pull off but it's still a good kiddie yarn, like GODZILLA'S REVENGE.
