Daikaiju Desumacchi IX
Kaiju Inclusion Voting
When:
From the time THE LIST is posted until 11 PM EST
JULY 2nd, 2010.
How it works:
Sixty-four (64) kaiju (or teams) will participate in the tournament.
Each member of the Forum can vote for
* 12 * kaiju they want to see participate in the Desumacchi, along with one (1) they would like to BLACK BALL and
prevent from competing.
In addition, there are also three (3) WRITE-IN slots on the ballot. You may use them for ANY kaiju or team you wish, whether it is OR IS NOT on the Roster, is a second Godzilla, Mothra or whatever. There is no guarantee they will get included in the tournament but the option is available.
Each kaiju or team starts out with zero (0) votes. For each vote it receives, its tally goes up by one (1). For each Black Ball it gets, the number goes DOWN one (-1). This determines the kaiju's
Total Inclusion Number or
TIN.

In the event of TIES near the end of the roster, kaiju vying for the final spots will be randomly chosen to participate.

In this example, Megaguirus and Mothra (Rebirth) would make the tourney as their TINs are higher than those of the kaiju tied for the final 3 spots (62-64).
That would leave 5 kaiju up for the final 3 spots, all tied with a 46 TIN. In this case, we would assign each of the five kaiju a number (1 thru 5) and then roll a D6 (six-sided dice) until 3 of the kaiju's numbers came up. Those 3 would make it into the DD.
Should LESS than the needed number of different kaiju receive votes, any remaining slots are randomly filled from the pool of kaiju tied with a TIN of zero (0).
If a kaiju gets a Black Ball and no positive votes, it would be further down the list with a NEGATIVE TIN and have a very slim chance of making it into the Desumacchi.
How to vote:
PLEASE READ THESE STEPS TO CAST YOUR BALLOT PROPERLY!!! Any ballots filled out incorrectly are subject to disqualification.
All voting is conducted via the
Private Message (PM) system on the Forum. Any INELIGIBLE kaiju (those NOT on the Inclusion Roster) listed in the 12 ballot slots will be disregarded and the vote wasted.
Kaiju must also be CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED by including any specific
FORM/VERSION identifiers, such as
Showa or
Heisei;
ROM,
etc.
You can only vote for ONE kaiju of a given TYPE/"SPECIES" in the ballot's 12 primary spots.
For example, if you vote for 'Godzilla (Heisei)', that is the ONLY GODZILLA you can vote for. If you vote for 'King Ghidorah (Showa)', that is the only KING GHIDORAH (other than Death Ghidorah and Mecha King Ghidorah) you can vote for.
All GROUPED KAIJU (such as Godzillas, King Ghidorahs and Mothras) are highlighted. If more than one kaiju of a GROUP/TYPE (indicated on the Inclusion Roster BY COLOR GROUP) is in your ballot's 12 primary spots, NEITHER will be counted.
Please refrain from revealing the kaiju you voted for on the Forum until the official Roster of combatants who made it into the Desumacchi is revealed.

There are TWO exceptions to voting for two of the same group of monsters on your ballot:
If you vote FOR a Godzilla, you can still BLACK BALL another Godzilla. You may also include other Godzillas in the WRITE-IN options.
Example for Black-Balling a kaiju:

Also, make sure to list all of your 12 kaiju on the main part of the ballot IN THE SAME ORDER AS THEY APPEAR in the list below.

PM your completed ballot to
Battle Master BEFORE 11 PM EST JULY 2nd, 2010. Any ballots received AFTER the deadline will be discarded.
You must fill out all 12 slots on the main part of the ballot and the one (1) Black Ball selection! If you fail to fill out ANY of those spaces, that vote will be wasted. Use the three Write-in slots for ANY OTHER kaiju you would like to see competing.
What happens next:
All votes will be tallied in secret and the 64 kaiju or teams who will be competing in this year's Desumacchi will be revealed, along with all kaiju's Total Inclusion Numbers (TINs) from highest to lowest.
