THE ONE AND ONLY is heading in the right direction.
Default Marvel's Transformers Return !

Way back in 1991 Marvel's TRANSFORMERS ended its run. Just when it was its best ,and always made it to the top of my reading list of my stack of weekly comic fix. And a little bit of my childhood died that day. Anyway, about two years later, the characters resurfaced from Marvel again for the short-lived TRANSFORMERS:GENERATION 2 series. Of course the Robots In Disguise have come back again in the last decade or so big time. Along with the men and women of Task Force Delta, G.I.JOE. Who, along with the Transformers, have had new comic adventures courtesy of IDW Publishing. But a few years back, IDW launched G.I. JOE:A Real American Hero ! , written by the Godfather of G.I. Joe himself, Larry Hama. Which picked up where the original Marvel run ended storywise, and has been doing great from some of us old foggy Joe fans who were there from the beginning. Last year, the longtime fan-favorite contributor to the Transformer mythos, Simon Furman, put up a petition asking the fans if they wanted IDW to do the same with Marvel's run of the Transformers. Pickingup where the original mag left off. Many a fan including myself signed said petition, and IDW responded by launching the book.

The four-issue limited series returns with TRANSFORMERS ReGeneration One#80.5. Which will be released on Free Comic Book Day, May 5, 2012. On top of that good news, along with writer Simon Furman's return. He'll be bring back for the ride, penciller Andrew Wildman and inker Stephen Baskerville to boot on the art chores. And then issue eighty-one comes out July.
Anywho, more to come. But now you'll have to tide yourselves over with this interview with writer Simon Furman until the mag finally comes out.

I doubt the House of Ideas would, however, they've(Marvel) seemed pretty tight with IDW the last year or so with the publishing of Walt Simonson's original art from his fabeledrun on THOR. But one thing I noticed in the Furman interview was mention of a character called Circuit Smasher, a gent whose outfit resembles that of the robot hating Circuit Breaker (http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/circuitb.htm ,http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Circuit_Breaker ).
So maybe there have been some changes, but I noticed Circuit Breker's old employer, and founder of the superpowered Decep trashing Neo-Knights,G.B Blackrock,(http://tfwiki.net/wiki/G.B._Blackrock ) also got a shout out as well ,so maybe the Freelance Peacekeeping Agent's return to the TFs aren't totally out of the cards either, yes ?

First off, I'm psyched for this! I signed the petition, but was worried when we didn't hear anything for a while that it had fallen through. Really looking forward to this.

Second, y'know what I'd like to see? Similar continuations for Dreamwave's series that weren't finished before the company went bankrupt (Generation One, The War Within - Age of Wrath, and the various others; maybe some of the planned-but-never-released series, too?); and reprints of the Dreamwave and Devil's Due Transformers/G.I. Joe crossovers, especially since Marvel's crossover miniseries is coming out in the next Classic G.I. Joe volume (Vol. 14, to be exact). Might not be likely for one reason or another, but I can dream...

^Likwise I'd love to see the completion of some the Dreamwave material. I was rather bummed when things screeched to halt. It just seemed that the books were really getting in the groove of things storywise. Top of the list on the Dreamwave storylines I'd like to see was TF:Energon, War Withinay of Wrath, and TF/G.I. Joeivided Front.

I seriously doubt they'd let Pat Lee touch anything Transformers-related ever again.

Well, they could just let someone else take the reins. It's been done before...

Besides ,on two out of the three projects I mentioned there. Only one of them, had Pat Lee actively working on them. The War Within:Age of Wrath and TF:Energon were written by Simon Furman with someone else on the art detail.

For that matter, could we AT LEAST see IDW put their existing Dreamwave issues back into print? Some of 'em are pretty friggin' expensive on eBay and Amazon and such...

while I'm glad to hear they will be reprinting the Death's Head material (as tracking that stuff down tends to be a *****), but am sad to hear that they probably won't be bringing him back for this project.

Would love to see the classic DH as written by Furman again.

And for the love of CHRIST, Hot Rod's already playing a major role in IDW's stuff... why do we need him to be such a pivotal character in this new stuff???

Hope the "fans will be angry" doesn't mean that he's gonna kill Prime or Grimlock or something.

Not that this has THAT much to do with ReGeneration One, but...

http://www.amazon.com/G-I-Transforme...8756439&sr=1-5

First, AWESOME. Second, since this IS "Volume ONE," I wonder if we'll finally see IDW start doing Devil's Due reprints down the line.

Am I the only one who would want IDW to do the same with Godzilla and continue the DH storyline and even get the same crew onboard? Art Adams already did some of their covers.

No, your not the only one here who would like to see a return to Dark Horse's settings and characters of their Godzilla line. G-Force(Kino, Take, Reiko, Kazushi, & Burton), and more on the story behind Doctor Yamazaki, the irked scientist behind the overly loathed Lord Howe Monster. We'll probably see pigs fly before that ever happens though.
