Monster Name Ideas, Please!

Greetings, ya'll!

One morning, a monster just leapt into my mind all at once. The thing is, I'm not good at naming people/things/anything.

The guy is built on a Deinonychus body (Jurassic Park Velociraptors)
He has Stegosaurus plates on his back
He has the Stegosaurus "chain mail" bones in his neck
He has a Stegosaurus tail
He has a T-Rex or Giganotosaurus head.
He has poisonous, corrosive saliva, and he can blow this out for a "beam" weapon (think sneeze)

The working name he has now is Rexleodon, but while I think this sounds cool, it looks really dumb when written. He is to be a majestic, regal kaiju, and I'm trying to find a name that gets this across.

Help me out, please.

How about Regiussaura? Its Latin for Regal Lizard

Well, DinoHunter, Stegosaurus had little bone "pepples" around its neck. They seem to have been spaced just right to allow the neck to have movement, but make it almost impossible for a carnivore to get its teeth into the neck. Megatherium had the same thing, but on him, it was all over his body.

Regiussaura has a nice sound to it. Perhaps "Vath" could be the name of a cyborg Ankylosaur that shows up

When I get my scanner, I'll put up pics of the as-yet-unnamed Dromaeosaurid kaiju. And maybe that cyborg ankylosaur. I wanted him to fight a cyborg, and that sounds cool. At least to me.....

How can this monster of yours have a head of a Tyrnnosarus Rex who lived during the Cretaceous period and Stegosarus features when Stegosarus lived in the Jurassic period? How about this name Gimesosarus which means Giant Mesosozoic Sarus Sarus from Dinosarur Mesozoic which was an era that coverd the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and Giant which means big.

If you invoke either mutation (that somehow doesn't kill the mutant) or genetic engeneering, you can come up with anything you like.

That said, DNA has been found in dinosaur bones (sometimes from turkey sandwiches, but sometimes dino DNA). This particular critter was genetically created by an ancient North American civilization to defend it from the attacks of the Atlanteans and Numenorians. Somehow ( GFW!) they put him together. He was put to sleep in a cave with a large ammount of egg yolk type stuff to keep him alive in case he was needed again. Over time, his cave got covered up, and that civ fell.

Fast forward to 2010 or whatever. An earthquake hits Denver, and part of the mountain caves in. A US team goes in and finds the critter, takes some of the fluid, sees the cave paintings that detail his genetic structure and exploits. Critter wakes up, and finds himself in unfamiliar territory. In essence, he is a guardian, but does not recognize the current civ as the one he is supposed to defend. He proceeds to destroy much, but when another critter wakes up, he fights it, then goes to sea to search for food.

That's the critters basic story, if ya'll are interested in the more detailed version, let me know, and I'll give it. Right now, however, I'm going to bed.

Could you show me some pictures showing this? I've never seen any renditions of Stegosaurus with pebble-like scutes on it's neck. Or are you referring to the smaller plates on it's neck that lead up to the larger ones on it's back? Also, did you really mean to say Megatherium... as in the giant ground sloth? I've seen pictures of their skeletons before, and never saw any form of armor on them. Maybe you were thinking of Glyptodonts...?

It has a beutiful pic of a stego skeleton with the neck pepples, and talks about them in the insert text.

And yes, I do mean Megatherium as in the giant sloth. The mammal couterpart to Walking with Dinosaurs (Walking with prehistoric Beasts) talks about this. Chapter = Sabertooth World, insert = The mother of all sloths. The pic shows the skeleton without, but the text says that they were found with the bones in the La Brea tar pits.

Ah- I'll have to check that out. Can't believe I'd never heard anything about it before! Very interesting... I guess the pebbles are remnants of early armor, like the pebblish armor on the back of Scutellosaurus?

I'm still looking for Kaiju names!

The Dromaeosaurid hero Kaiju is now officially a Regisaurus, but I'm also looking for a personal name. (I'm not saying I've rejected any of the proffered names, I'm just still keeping my options open)

The Atlantean Cyborg Ankylosaurus is officially Vath. (perhaps something like "Vath the devastator?")

I'm looking for a Wasp monster name, probably from Numenor (around Iraq), and probably with another monster or two.

What names can you come up with for this?

I have a Raptor with three rows of plates on his back. For most of them, the front is round and the back is serrated, but the largest ones over his shoulders are flipped around the other way. He has nuclear projectile vomit.

On another note, the Saber Tooth Cat (smilidon) chimera that you don't know about is now Rexleodon. (King Lion Tooth)

The Wasp chimera is Shrake. Thanks to BS Digital Q for ye name.

I now have a scanner, and I will be posting pics of Chimerus, Vath, the Other Raptor Guy , Shrake the Wasp (from Numenor), and when I finally get it drawn, Rexleodon (from the Atlantean Rebel States).

I know I'm not a really great artist, but I think I get the basic idea down.

In other news, I now have a base creature for what is sleeping under the temples at Bagan, Bhurma in the Official timeline. Majungatholus. That head is too cool to pass up

Still looking for a name for a Raptor with three rows of plates with a single serrated side, and with thermonuclear barf.
