ESPN Classic
ESPN CLassic has a show called "WHo's number 1?" or something to that effect. One of the people interviewed calls a sports matchup "Godzilla vs. Mothra."
Great stuff.

Colbert Report tonight mentioned Rodan in the Tip of the Hat/Wag of the Finger segment where Steven mixes Rodan with the artist Rodin(the guy who sculpted The Thinker), citing the destroyed Japanese countryside as another of his finest works.

Re: Kaiju Cameos on TV!
There was a show called "Class of 3000", a cartoon on Cartoon Network. In one episode called "Funky Monkey" the kids work to get in a play with the upperclassmen and that play is... King Kong! Our hero Lil' D befriends a real gorilla called Momo to play King Kong in the hopes that he can be Skull Island drummer! For more go here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funky_Monkey

Re: Kaiju Cameos in film and television
I’m back with more!
If you’ve gone through here, you’ve probably seen a few remarks coming from “Weekly World News,” Earth’s wackiest magazine. Well, I don’t know if its just a coincidence, or if we share the same kind of madness (hey, I’ve always like their funkiness!) but they’ve had a series of kaiju over the years today…
May 28, 2007
Kaiju Dolphera, by Dick Spiegal
Seattle, Wash.—Yet another new monster has surfaced from the ocean depths to wreak a terrible vengeance on humankind—the third in as many weeks!
It then proceeds to say “This is a monster of unknown origin—what the Japanese call a kaiju!” It writes of a fishing boat that was going about its business when it was a struck by a giant monster. The men shot it with harpoon guns but Dolphera spat acid! The authorities write if off as a stray iceberg.
The chief source is identified as First Mate Tom Nesbit. Nesbit was the name of the hero from “The Beast from 20,000 fathoms.” A scientist offering comment was Dr. Tak Fujita. He warns that if it keeps up, then forget global warming. “There will be globe left to warm!”
Dolphera is shown as a giant dolphin, hence the name but it has curling ram horns like that those of a big horn sheep and it has the torso of a crocodile.
Earlier reported kaiju are Kangorous who attacked Sydney Australia on May 14th, 2007. It’s a 100 foot tall kangaroo dinosaur that has the head of a kangaroo and the body of Godzilla! (I’m not kidding, it’s the real body of the real Godzilla seemingly hesei version, though his spines were replaced with what look like branches.) A baby Kangorous escaped from its mother pouch to smash an amusement park.
There was also a Chinese dragon dog called Doragon who attacked a Chinese marketplace on May 21st, 2007.

Re: Kaiju Cameos in film and television
Weekly World News has made its monster segment a weekly feature so they’re no longer true cameos. However, I did find something rather interesting in Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! A new series, Shaggy inherits money from his inventor uncle who must go into hiding to escape the series villains. The episode in question opens with Shaggy and Scooby watching TV the picture is black and white… and its in Timu-Scope! A deliberate nod to Toho-Scope films, it was in the same font, same sunburst!
It then fades and shows the opening card. “Mega-Chimp X Gigantotron” It opens it with the X just like recent Godzilla films. We see the Gigantotron smashing buildings and he eats a train! Train bashing is something associated with Godzilla due to the attack on the train station in “King of the Monsters” and his grabbing the train in “1985.” (Though it was shortened from its original form.) Mega-Chimp saves the train, puts it on the tracks and fights Gigantotron.
(Curiously, the show is produced by Ray DeLaurentis. No seeming relation to Dino.)

Re: Kaiju Cameos in film and television
Not so much in film or television, but Greg Farshtley, one of the heads of story on Lego's Bionicle, author of the comics and novels, etc, brought up an interesting tidbit about some recent events with the whole battle between the Kardas Dragon and the giant saurian creature Tahtorak. Turns out the battle ended with a win for Tahtorak, though he ends up being teleported off of Voya Nui by Order member Botar. In a rare show of a sense of humor, he chose to send him to the heavily industrialized island of Xia and Tahtorak's rampaging and destroying it. Sound like anyone we know?

Re: Kaiju Cameos in film and television
I found some kaiju reference in this old anime based on the manga by Fuji Fujito called KAIBUTSUKUN (1968-1969). Here a kid with a stretchy body joins forces with cartoon version of three famous monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman). In the opening version of the cartoon he fights not one, not two, but three Godzillas.

Re: Kaiju Cameos on TV!
Do we count kaiju sounds? Because I was watching an episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series. The Episode was called Yesteryear (Best ep of the animated series) and an animal attacks a young spock and it has a very familar roar.

Re: Kaiju Cameos in film and television
The July 30th issue of Weekly World News featured another kaiju story… but this was a deliberate tip of the hat. There we see the hero of the Kaiju segments, Tak Fujita, puzzling why is it that the monsters always disappear? Doubting Thomases wind up saying that it was a hurricane or an earthquake but we KNOW what really happened, DON’T WE!? Fujita did research and found out that the monsters were being created by a mad scientist called Hu (Dr. Who?) who disguised himself as a nice therapist and used his “psycho-analyzer machine” to aid in treating people. What was happening was that the machine was turning people’s nightmares, their madness into real monsters.
This is somewhat similar to Gabara from “All Monsters Attack.” There a boy named Ichiro was sad because a bully named Gabara always picked on him. He retreated into daydreams where he met Minya… who was also bullied a monster named Gabara. In an episode of “Godzilla: The Series,” “What Dreams May Come” we see a monster called the Crackler who was created from the nightmares of a man undergoing psychiatric treatment. Both had electric powers.
Not only that, but the last monster was the F-Man! A slimy gelatinous mass, he was of course inspired by the H-Man, from the toho film of the same name. Fujita managed to defeat the F-Man and end Hu’s reign of terror by destroying the man’s machine.

Re: Kaiju Cameos on TV!
On ben 10, secret of the omnitrix, Ben transformed into a Giant, Red and White, Humanoid Alien. Ultraman anyone?
Got another one. On the Kappa Mikey episode, Big trouble in little Tokyo, the main characters are watching a film. A couple is attacked by human sized rip-off's of Gamera, Mothra, and Godzilla. Later on, they go to a secret floor in their building, they go into a lab with a collection of items from horror movies. They watch part of a film called "Birth of Megazilla". A giant monster who looks alot like Godzilla attacks the millitary, only to be shrunk by lighting. The Main character, Mikey simon says "This ending stinks!". A Mad scientist who made Monster movies also planned to make his small Monsters grow large, so they could destroy tokyo. Also, 2 of the characters, Gonard, and Guano grow large and have a fight in tokyo, where they bum[p into what looked like Rodan, and some Ultraman Kaiju.
EDIT: 2 More

New Robot Chicken Godzilla Sketch
Well, as some of you may or may not know, there is a new sketch about our beloved saurian on Robot Chicken... I thought it was pretty funny and I wanted all to see it too... here's the link...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OD_mA5SVYw
P.S. If this is in the wrong section please feel free to move it accordingly. Oh and after seeing the video, I could'nt really see whether or not if the second Godzilla was modeled after a Showa era Godzilla or Minya, please judge for yourselves...
