I read an in-depth preview of JL:H in GameInformer, and I really have a bleak outlook on this game. This pretty much solidifys the notion that Super hero games only come in two variations: Expansive free-roamers (Ultimate Spiderman, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, upcoming Superman Retusn game) and top-down brawlers/RPGs (X-Men Legends, Fantastic 4, Teen Titans). While the former you can usually never go wrong with, the top-down brawlers can never capture the true essence of a hero and its powers. It worked for X-Men Legends because the Mutants don't have as wide of a range of powers as heros like Spiderman, Hulk or Superman. But for the Justice League? The playable roster (so far) is Superman, Batman, Zatanna, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. Look at that list...that roster will really need something more than top-down brawling to capture their essence. Especially Batman. Batman is not a hero who busts in and punches everyone out whiile making a big scene. If Batman simply acted like that, he wouldn't be as nearly an effective hero as he is.
