Light Surge needs to shape up.
Default Games that deserve sequels/remakes

Here is my list:

- Syphon Filter: An old psx game. I have only played the second and third game in the series. The second one was awesome but the third one screwed up big time. IMO this game deserves a remake.

- Dangerous dave: An old Dos game. While I believe that the second one was more logical and fun as to collect stuff and escape, the third one was quite well made compared to its precedor. IMO this game deserves a sequel.

-Body blows: Yet another old DOS/Amiga game. This was actually the king of fighting genre games. Body blows one was the best. The second one turned the franchise into a joke and the third one (Final bodyblows) was just a mix of both games. Deserves a remake.

- Mechwarrior series: I don't understand why the series stopped by the 4th game but I have to say, this was awesome. The other cheap mech war games were just ripoffs of this truely marvelous Title. This deserves a sequel.

-Alien soldiers: A sega genisis game that truly used up the entire system to bring about a solid fast paced action game. Sadly the developer's lost their minds after its success and started off with gunstar series. This game deserves a sequel.

-Primal Rage: I'am sure everyone knows about this truly awesome game. Deserves both a remake or a sequel.

-Carnivores: A pc hunting game that ended by its 4 game in the series. Deserves a remake the sweep up the mess it made in the C4: City escape.

Will post more later on..

Primal Rage did have an unreleased sequel, Primal Rage 2. It was released to a few arcades for popularity tests (some of which are still active today). You can download a ROM of it in the URL I have provided.

Legend of Dragoon - This game really needs a sequel bad, it was a great PS1 game and one of, if not the best RPG's to hit that system.

I can't exactly think of many individual games that deserve a sequel, but more like game series that deserve one.

Pikmin- Nintendo had a really in-depth and unique RTS on their hands, but it seems to have just slipped away. Hopefully they'll try something with it for Wii.

Panzer Dragoon- After Orta, there's no doubt that this is a franchise with serious potential. Sega should really consider making another one.

Ogre Battle- This is truly one of the best turn-based strategies out there, up among the ranks of FF Tactics and Fire Emblem, it's too bad there's been so few entries into the series.

Wasn't there a sequel that was put out on the X-Box?

This I would have to agree with, the original was absolutely one of the best games I have played, and IMO it's way better than FF Tactics and Fire Emblem.

^Actually, there was no sequel to PDO.

Although, it is still the best-grpahics I have ever seen: and I have call of duty (all of them) and resistacne: fall of man.

Panzer dragoon orta deserves and needs a sequel.

Oh yes, Orta was downright gorgeous. That's one of the few games from the last generation that still looks awesome besides games from this gen.

Orta was on X-Box, but since then, there hasn't been a new PD title. The series has always gotten critical acclaim, but I don't think it's very popular outside of the immediate fandom, which probably has lead to Sega ignoring it.

Amen, brother!
Carnivores DEFINATELY needs to continue... Cityscape was a crappy game and a total plot-killer, if they could ignore that one and go back to their dino-hunting origins, I could die happy...

I know which game needs to be remade. Final Fantasy VII.

And there are many reasons why they should do it.

1) People will buy it in a heart beat.
2) People will buy the PS3 just to have it.
3) The success of the FFIII remake on the DS.
4) I want to play it.

Donkey Kong Country: Sure it's basically impossible with the Rare/Nintendo split, but after ten years, I'd love to play another of these marvelous platformers.

Nights into Dreams: An innovative game that many players will apparently not get to experience. The Wii is just begging to host a Nights sequel.

I'd like to second the Panzer Dragoon vote.

Finally, I'd like to thank Nintendo and Artoon for giving us an excellent sequel to my favorite game of all time: Yoshi's Island. After 11 years and only Yoshi's Story and a GBA port, I was beginning to think it would never happen.

FF7 on PS3 to me would be like kryptonite to superman. except that instead of running away from i would be forced to purchase a PS3. this is the ONLY marketing ploy that would convince me to buy a ps3. i purchased the PSX for the very same reason..sad but true.

anyways some games that need sequels...

Disgaea - already has one but this series needs to go on. in sheer depth it makes all other strategy rpgs look like chumps. level 9999 Laharl pwns level 99 TG CID. if you havent played it yet then you should be out purchasing disgaea 1 and 2 right now. see you in a couple years.

Parasite Eve - im surprised this hasnt gotten another sequel...however the second one SUCKED mightily and pissed on the original. Its like the developers were sitting around the board room and was like "hey ya know all that was good about the first game? lets take it out and make a really stupid sequel!!". they should deny the sequels existance and make a direct sequel to the first game.

Final Fantasy Tactics - a close second to FF7 in the list of best things square has ever done...why havent they done a second one? it boggles the mind....

Super Mario RPG - no not paper mario. i mean a sequel to the ORIGINAL which was one of the best RPGS ever IMO. it perfectly blended rpg elements and MARIO into a beautiful game that was fun as heck. then after square and nintendo split the developers sat around the board room and was like "hey ya know all that was good about the first game? lets take it out and make a really stupid sequel!! mario should look like paper!!!" i can just here the guinness guy shouting "BRILLIANT!"

super mario 64 - pretty please nintendo?

King of the monsters - two fun kaiju-filled installments on the SNES left me wanting more...and in 3d..imagine the possibilities

War of the monsters - nuff said

more as they come...

And I plan to get the Virtual Console Duck Hunt game too.

Nintendo would have a best seller on their hands if they'd simply make an enhanced remake with the option to shoot that Dog...

^Seconded. The art-style notwithstanding, both Paper Marios (and while we're at it, both Mario and Luigis) are excellent blends of RPGs and Mario goodness. In fact, I'd have to say Paper Mario: the 1000 Year either rivals or surpasses Super Mario RPG (and this is from the guy who will track down the SNES versions of Mega Man, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy games simply because they're the SNES versions).

It Came From The Desert- One of the best games from the old DOS era. I'd love to see what could be done with the technology at hand today. I'd say either go the "Survival Horror" route or make it an Adventure/Point N Click hybrid or something.

War of the Monsters- Still deserves a sequel.

King of Monsters- I'd throw it to the people who did the recent Rampage game, but in the style of the old KoM games. Imagine all the kinds of creatures they'd throw into it!! Bring back the entire cast from the first two (Geon, Atomic Guy, Beetlemania, etc.) and some new critters to use. ^^

Parasite Eve- I didn't mind the sequel, just wasn't nearly as engaging at the first game. Would love to see Square-Enix make a new installment.

Cold Fear- Loved this game, definately needs a sequel.

Obscure- Another great horror game, would like to see another installment, maybe another set of students getting caught up in another series of horrific and paranormal events?

Manhunt- ditto.

Dark Cloud- this game was pretty kool and had a LOT of neat ideas. i havent played the second one yet but the first one was good enough that with some development i think the series could really flourish...im surprised it seems to be dead and gone

They can't just make a rehash of SM64, that'd be stupid. Galaxy is keeping the platforming elements of 3D Marios and adding in new gameplay features (wii remote actions, gravity) and a new setting to make it fresh. It's not a gimmick, it's a new theme.

They go off on those crazy art-directions to make sure that their big franchises don't become Mega Man, Castlevania, Mario Party, Pokemon, Sonic or pre-RE4 Resident Evil. By switching things up, we don't get the same game over and over, instead we get something very new to look at and play. I mean, why make a sequel of a game if it's more like a 1.5 version?

Oh, by the way, you're missing out on easily one of the best entries into the Zelda series by skipping WW because of the art

This is really starting to bother me, people being put off at Pokemon just because more Pokemon are added to each game. Any fan can tell you, the Battle system in that series gets deeper and broader with every installment. The extra Pokemon being added only help to balance and diversify the Battling/Training expirience. Pelt me with heavy stones if you want, but I think the Pokemon series currently has the best battle-system out of any turn-based RPG.

well SMB3 is just a rehash of the first SMB and SMW is just a rehash of SMB3 and those were incredible games..in fact i do believe SMB3 is the greatest selling game of all time. those games were DEEPER versions of their predecessors. which is what i would like the sequel to SM64 to be. they didnt change anything drastic just made the games better as they went along. not that im saying all change is bad, its just that once in a while its nice to go back to what made something popular. im sure super mario sunshine or even luigis mansion were fun in their own right. but id just like to see them go back to the roots of the series a bit...

because you usually end up with garbage. most games that get major re-imaginings end up as trash. nintendo is probably the best game developer in the world so i give them a lot of credit for being able to take odd concepts like the ones weve been mentioning and at least make them fun. but like i said getting back to basics is nice once in a while. im sure you can make a mario game with old school concepts but make it new and fresh enough to be entertaining.

yep and im going to continue to do so. because i cant get over how retarded the game looks...and this is my opinion so dont get all offended or anything but i absolutely hate the style of art used. honestly its what stopped me from buying a gamecube. i cant enjoy the gameplay because im just not feeling the scenery.

and normally im very tolerant of graphics...my favorite game of all time is FF7 which by todays standards has terrible graphics. it still boggles my mind why nintendo decided to make really bad cartoony graphics in wind waker. but as i said thats my opinion..however i do know quite a few people who agree with me on this one.
