Re: The Wrestling Thread
It's being investigated as a murder/suicide - investigators are claiming that Benoit murdered his wife and son, then killed himself.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
It's been reported all over the place that Benoit killed his wife Nancy, and his little kid over the weekend, then killed himself Monday.
.....I don't know what to say.....

He did it. Eff that murdering jackoff. I used to be a huge fan of his, up until an hour ago. Now I hope he's being smothered in Hell.

^ How he died? The stupid idiot killed his 7-YEAR OLD SON.....Benoit is a joke. WWE has already taking down all there tributes to him from yesterday.....he won't be in the Hall of Fame. Instead of remembering the idiot you should totally forget about him.

Yeah, I gotta admit that I agree with Cookson. Benoit was one of my favorites and i considered him to be one of the best of all time but after hearing this, I can't stomach to watch any of his old matches and/or look at his legacy favovably again.

It just doesn't seem fathomable.
I don't even know how I should respond.
And there are still two kids from a prior relationship too. Depending on how close they were to him they will probably need therapy after this insane BS.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Yeah you know, instead of praising the loser that Benoit was, we should be thinking about how horrible it must have been for the wife, and his son.... and the two kids Benoit left behind.

its hard to believe but in light of this screw him.

You've already been addressed, but let me ask you this.
What sort of life should we celebrate of Chris Benoit? I don't give a crap how he worked in the ring, how he behaved behind the scenes, or how many people he entertained in his 20 something years in the spotlight. None of it adds up in worth to a single second of his seven year old son's life. Chris Benoit was a piece of ****. If he lived any other way then he was just adept at hiding what a piece of **** he was. We should absolutely remember the way he died - cowardly ending his own life after he strangled his wife and smothered his own child with a ******* plastic bag.
What kind of person are you that you can, even for a second, gloss over what he did? What possible redeeming qualities in that man - excuse me, that person (I don't consider Benoit to be a man by any measurable means) could any rational person possibly find? I don't care how he lived his life - he murdered a child. His own child. An eternity of suffering wouldn't redeem that wretched piece of scum, and anyone who tries to glorify his name needs to reexamine his own priorities and morals.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Man, this is just disturbing. He definitely had me fooled. With all the talk about how much of a family man he was and everything, I couldn't believe the reports of him murdering them. Now there are details about how he and his wife were almost divorced and she was abused throughout their marriage. She was going to have a restraining order put on him before it got dropped. This was a sick person and he hid it all along with this fake wholesome image. Not just to the fans, but even the other wrestlers that worked with him over the years knew him as a nice guy, so he fooled them too. That's what really gets me.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
its obvious anyone who can sympathize or overlook his actions does not have a wife and child.
i dont blame you in a way..before the birth of my son i was worried that what if i didnt love him. i had no idea how i would react. until he was born and hes the most precious thing in the world to me. i see him smile and my heart melts and every second of agony or backbreaking labor ive gone through in my life suddenly becomes worth it.
When something like this happens its natural to put yourself in the persons shoes because your mind is trying to find some way to rationalize what they didnt. There is no rationality here. the thought of hurting my son makes me sick to my stomach.
all this and i havent even mentioned the love for my wife who gave me my son. and who puts up with my bullcrap. and my addiction to giant monsters. i couldnt imagine hurting her.
so yeah chris was a great wrestler, but by no means will i remember that fact when i think of him.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Still shocked by this one. The Crippler was a good, nasty brawler back in the WCW. But man, to do something like this, that just annihilates anything good this scumbag did in his life. Smothering a seven year old with a plastic bag? **** that pile of ****, long may he rot and I hope everybody remembers what he did when he died, not his career in the ring. Murderer is a title that washes out any others you've held.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Not just murder.
His own kid.
If he'd cured cancer, I MIGHT remember him with mixed emotions.
But as a guy who did pretend fights with other sweatbags? Forget it.

Chris Benoit?
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegrap...rom=public_rss
This is rather disturbing news....I heard of this from Cyndi then we began to check out the news sources. What a horrific act.....Especially since I knew who Chris Benoit was cause a friend used to be obsessed with him.

Re: Chris Benoit?
What bothers me is they did a frigging tribute on RAW. I mean I'm sure they kind of have to but they should have also told the truth rather than try to water it down. Poor Vince, he looked so shaken up.

Yeah...the tribute thing was a tad bit ridiculous...especially under the circumstances.

Re: Chris Benoit?
Pfft. Yeah, I think Raptor hit this on the head. I think Steroids definitly had something to do with this. But hey, that is wrestling for ya. They can take there little soap opera and go away with their staged fights.
But supposidly this scum bag injected his son with human growth hormone as well. This is why I hate wrestling and why I say it should never be taken seriously.

Re: Chris Benoit?
You people really should get your facts straight before you bash anything.
1. WWE had absolutely no knowledge of Benoit's actions prior to Tuesday morning, so therefor their tribute on Monday night was completely reasonable, especially since he hid his family problems so well.
2. Benoit passed a drug test in mid-April, so if he had been using steroids it wasn't for very long, and it certainly wouldn't have been something the WWE would condone with their strict drug policy
3. The needle mark in Daniel Benoit was from legitimate medication, nothing to do with steroids.
Benoit was obviously a scumbag who tricked his co-workers and all of the fans into thinking that he was a decent man, but know what you're spouting out about the company at least.

Benoit always gave me a bad vibe. He even looked like a guy you want to avoid. I wasn't much of a fan and now I'm glad I wasn't.
