Elephant Paints Self Portrait
This is amazing and it speaks volumes for animal intelligence and how little we actually know of them.

Eh, I've seen videos of chimps painting as well as most modern artists. ( )

My art teacher showed my class that video. She also said there was a tap-dancing chicken at the same zoo that the elephant resides at. I was more intrigued by the chicken.

Chimps also possess opposable thumbs and are essentially one chromosome off from us, this is a 9 ton elephant with a trunk that can paint intricate lines and create an image.

Re: Elephant Paints Self Portrait
I saw this video. I was impressed. Nonetheless, if you look at the painting, you can clearly see the faint outlines that the elephant was trained to follow. So perhaps he's not so much an original artist as he is a skilled copiest... if that makes any difference to you...
But it is cool! Anyone see the bird named "snowball" (I think) that danced to Backstreet Boys music? That's preety awesome. I think it was on the news, too.
