'Twon't be the extinction of the race of man, as you can't kill over 6 billion bipedal savannah chimps with a simple supervolcano. Now, a new Paleolithic and possible evolution of successor species...perhaps.

The Yellowstone supervolcano erupting will cover everything west of the Father of Waters in ash...but hey, our descendants will have exceptionally good farmland!
