Hope and Change indeed, eh, Mr. President? If this is what the next 4 years are going to look like, very happy indeed will I be, and very unhappy will be the Obama-lovers that tell me that when they piss on my leg, it's raining lemonade.

Do you really think that the the nominee had been white, Obama would have gone against Congress?
It isn't racial, its a smart move. "Hey, lets not do what the scandal riddled politician wants to do."

I said nothing about race. This is a matter of obeying the law, something Bush's gang...um...didn't do (after all, we hung Axis generals for waterboarding. If it was good enough for Nazis and Imperial Japan....). If we hear "Hope and Change" I actually, you know, expect at least something to change.

Change my ***. The man is still a Democrat. You know, the other enormous party in the country? Bloated, and just as corrupt as the republicans?

Those two parties have been corrupt forever and a day, so I fail to see why a country that could produce Boss Tweed should gasp in horror at that. What rankles is when we're handed Bullshit and told it's fudge from someone that frankly, can't string a sentence together without it being written for him.

I'd rather live to 60 and die of a heart-attack in the US than likely live to 40 in Paleolithic times, all things considered.

And when someone who most likely broke the law about something and then decides on it, it is best to use caution.
Plus, it's not breaking the law if Congress does it legally. Which, since they are doing it, I'm going to guess that Congress can block govenor's nominations anyway.

I guess I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Blago's a ****** and his nomination shouldn't be accepted at this point. It's hard to feel bad for him, and Obama stating as such shouldn't be a bad thing.
But since everyone is already talking about race, dear God what would happen if Bush did the exact same thing...Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would already be on his doorstep.

Not according to the 17th Amendment, they can't. Blagojevich can sue their asses and the Court will likely rule in his favor, and then what's Congress going to do? I hardly see Pelosi or Reed saying "John Roberts has made his decision, now let him enforce it," do you? If we at least pretend to be a democracy, respecting the rule of law comes first.

Not Jackson, at least. He'd want to keep his son out of the spotlight. Sharpton, hell yes.
Despite that, Hybrid, he is still the duly-elected governor, and has neither been brought to trial or convicted of even jaywalking. And that pesky Constitution means Blagojevich can take Congress to the Court and it will likely rule for strict interpretation in this case for sheer spite if nothing else. So...again, do you see Madam Speaker or the President Pro Tempore saying "John Roberts has made his decision, and now let him enforce it?"

Actually, it can be blocked, by the Illinois legislature.

And that Serb can still sue them for it, and again, he'll win, their hands will be tied, and this'll be an ever-giving gift to the GOP.

Why would he win, when the fact that the state legislature can "block" is in the admendment?

While I certainly shouldn't fully preside whether he is innocent or guilty yet, I can hardly see a state prosecutor making a bunch of that stuff up. And Blago was simply using his (abuse of) power to get someone in before he gets the boot - everyone knows that, so I could care less if his selection gets revoked.
Now if somehow it comes out and I'm wrong and he's squeaky clean, I'll gladly choke on my own foot. You can even ask me to try and chew. The only hope the guy seems to have is that maybe some senile judge will rule in favor of the evidence agains him being inadmissable due to improper phone tapping...

There's no such thing as a clean politician, not in this country, not in this age. Rats wouldn't piss on these people.

I wonder why people took pictures of animals before the ability to put humorous remarks on them.
