Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
Some samples of the new Heaven & Hell album - in case you don't know, the band is basically a reunion of Dio-era Black Sabbath - are available online. Apparently the entire album has leaked, too, but I think I'll wait until the release date to check it out. However, it sounds ridiculously promising. Then there's the insane cover art...

Re: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
I have had the pleasure of seeing Heaven and Hell live twice within a year. This resurgence is great! The live DVD and CD are a must have for fans of Sabbath as a whole... And this will be no different. It's great too see all of them, especially Iommi and Butler, out doing what they do best. I have heard Bible Black in full, and it does not disappoint, as long as you know what to expect from these guys.
I hope this also does wonders for the Black Sabbath back catalogue featuring the line-ups outside of Ozzy, Ward, Butler, Appice, and Dio. I am not much into downloading music, but I have gotten Born Again, Seventh Star, and Eternal Idol off iTunes because it's the next best thing to owning the hard copy. I will not pay the inflated prices of Headless Cross and Tyr found through out the internet, especially from sources I don't trust. And my CD copy of Cross Purposes has become so unplayable since it was originally belonging to my step father who kept it in his truck for years.

Re: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
Well, I am surprised that this topic has only had one responce. I own the CD and DVD of their Radio City tour and so I was happy with Dio comming back. While Ozzy was classic, Dio is just on a technical level a beter singer (I am in chorus, Dio hits the notes better) and the song writting is better. Not to mention a kick *** album cover. I am listending to Bible Black right now:

The begining fallows te same formula which some other Dio-era songs fallow but it is good. Though Dio needs to tweak the vocals at the begining for accuracy. But, this is a better come back than what AC DC tried to do.

Re: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
RJ Dio certainly is NOT Ozzy Osboure, but he's one hell of a singer."Holy Diver" is an amazing song.....And Black Sabbath Rules, regardless of the singer...

Of course he is not Ozzy because Dio is a better singer by fact. Though of Dio's solo years I think that Rock N Roll children is his best because of it's variety...

Yeah...
I recommend listening to Bible Black before passing judgment. Keep in mind, you're going to be listening to it the entire day. Why? It's not just because it's a damn good song. It's because it's performed by a damn good band.

Re: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
It has always been my opinion that Dio fits Sabbath far better than Ozzy. Therefore, unlike the many people I have met who express no excitement over this album just because "It's not the original Sabbath" I have very much been looking forward to this. Though I've been preoccupied with other bands and albums that I hold in higher regard lately so I have only heard Bible Black thus far, which as expected, blew my mind.
In answer to G2k, Black Sabbath is not exactly hard music to play. So that expands the lifespan of Black Sabbath by a substantial amount. Expect them to stick around for quite some time.

Re: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
Huh, funny. Yesterday, a friend played in a school talent show Iron Man. But bad to Dio-era Sabbath, really, I hope you are correct Necroticism (HW). Though really, I like the merchan Rhino is pumping out for H&H...
