Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
Nice compilation. Accompanying text might could use some proofing for a more polished presentation.
Looking at the castle shot, I'm wondering if including the RESULTS of Goji's mis-step wouldn't be a nice addition for a more complete understanding of the clip. Same with adding in any further information that might surface about the takes, such as comments by Nakajima-san, etc.
There are also HEISEI out-takes which I'm hoping to see covered similarly.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
Add that link at the bottom of the first article (or the vids with the corresponding captures) and this could be a quite definitive reference!
Out-takes/bloopers/unused scenes can greatly add to appreciation of our favorite films in many aspects.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
Of course the most well-known 'cut' has always been the impromptu fight between Godzilla and Manda when they were filming DAM. That's a pretty interesting little piece, even if there probably isn't any more story behind it than 'we thought it would be fun'.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
^That scene is kinda odd - I have a VHS of Toho's SPFX Special (don't remember the name).
@ G2K Master - The article was nice and it had some pictures I have never seen. Very good info. Also, might I suggest not saying things like "no offense" to people like KPA? I realize you were probably just trying to distinguish between he and the Keith who helped you in your article, but it comes across in a rather...bad way I guess. I'm sure KPA would never take offense to someone else providing info. Other than that, it is probably the best article I've seen you do. Keep it up.

That is not why I said no offence. I said it because sometimes what I write comes off as "snobbish". I am affraid to death of someone interpreting something like that of my writing...

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
G2KMaster
Wow.
Great stuff... Wish they could replace this stuff into the films or do a deleted scenes thing on the DVDs (In which ever DVD/Film they came from).
I would have most especially loved more for both Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster and Destroy All Monsters.
Rodan having more bit parts I certainly would have loved.
Though I still feel the GvManda fight still wouldn't fit for the DAMovie, the rest certainly would.
Good job.
Awesome images.
G7
P.S. Any chance you can also post some images from KKE (More of Gorosaurus is ALWAYS appreciated here) and FctW (Especially if they have Baragon or the daidako-Giant Octopus in them).
P.P.S Frankly G2K... I wouldn't fret a whole lot about offending people. But then again some are so sensitive. LOL

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
I will post some stuff about the other Showa films soon. Let's let this stuff sink in. I have offered text making of's, the Deleted Scenes, and Fan Event coverage. Othe rauthors have contributed such nice additions such as a list of kaiju cameos in other media. Hopefully the blog will now get a good rep. Plus, it takes alot of patience to load the videos. They take about 5 hours to load.
Maybe I should not be as worried, but I am alittle worried about offending people. Unless I am wanting to be brash, I want to stay on people's good sides.

The internet is abiguous, and you will always offend someone even if your goal is not to. That's how people are, and frankly if they get offended about stupid stuff then that's on them, not you, and you're probably better off.
And more pictures are welcomed of course! Assuming they arent so rare you want to use them for something special.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
I am counting this whole thing as something special. Can't write for an already established revenue so I am creating my own. Hope that the blog (JournalismG2K) becomes as well known as SciFiJapan and/or RoboJapan. It is going to take time, and sure I lack writers with high name reconition but in time it would come around.
And since we are on the topic, be watching for video and text coverage of G-FEST '09!!!!!!!!!

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
I haven't actually seen a full video of it, but I have seen the GIF, where Seesar leaps at Mechagodzilla and lands on top of him. Is that a deleted scene or just part of the Japanese cut only?

That's a good point, HG. My name isn't as common as "Steve" or something like that but I certainly don't think I'm the only Keith in fandom. I wouldn't even have noticed it if G2K didn't mention me, and when I read it I thought he was making a joke.

Hey, many here have noticed that but don't be too hard on yourself.

The Sony DVD of GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA is uncut so if you saw a clip that's not on the DVD it's most likely an alternate take or and outtake.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
Ah, that was an awesome clip. Toho's R2 DVD actualy has an outakes take which was interesting, including a version of Godzilla and MG's beams meeting w/o the animation and MG firing his finger missiles at a sleeping King Caesar. Interesting stuff.

Re: Deleted Scenes of the Showa Era
I would love to see an extended scene involving King Caesar battling MG. He certainly could use a couple more scenes at least showing him holding his ground better.
Same goes for MG firing at the sleeping KC. Would have been neat.
KPA said - Hey, many here have noticed that but don't be too hard on yourself.
blah blah blah
