Friday Night KP Kaiju Movie!

Something me and Inferno Rodan started doing could be a fun thing to get started on the KP chat. Seer has given me the green light to see how many would be interested.

The premise is simple: buncha fans in the KP chat watching the same kaiju movie at the same time.

If you're interested, just come to the KP chat around 7:30. We'd start the movie at 8. So everyone is all synchronized, we'd do a countdown, followed by "play." This will only work if everyone has the DVDs.

The first movie we'll do is Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the American version of G54. We can just see what goes on from there. This would be a weekly thing every Friday night at 8. So if you're interested, just come to the chat around 7:50 so everyone can get their butts ready.

Remember, this is NOT live feed. This is just throwing the DVD in at the same time and watching. Live feed would be awesome, but can't do that. Also, there would be no group pausing.

Guess you can discuss here, could get an idea of how many people would show.

And that's 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Don't know whatever time that makes it for all the rest of ya'.

If you want we could use my JTV channel and do it as a private stream. That would make it easier for everyone and allow those who don't own the movie to join in.

Justin.tv has chat inside the channel so you won't need split screen action. I'll throw a link to my channel once I finish setting my my new comp for it.

Uh... I guess that depends on how the JTV servers feel that evening. Most of the time I think you should fine, but if for some reason the site gets a few extra tens of thousands viewers, it could slow down for time to time. Although that usually only happens when some celeb decides to show up on the site for a few hours... I'm looking at you Jonas Brothers.

Im probablly in too, depending on how things go on Friday. BTW, any particualr version of the DVD? I'm assuming the Classic Media one that came with Gojira, right?

Everyone should be able to watch the movie as long as JTV and my comp doesn't crash. You will have to create a quick profile in order to chat, but thats easy and doesn't require anything annoying.

Kay, I'm makinmg an account. One thing, though... IT says you have to verify you're 18 to acces your channel and I'm not. Is it mandatory to put my age, because if I do I cant acces you....

Yeah, I'm still using the chat. I tried that live feed stuff before and it just craps out. Anyone who just wants to do it the old fashion, easy way, meet us in the chat around 7:50.

Well the test run has been an extreme success. No lag at all and sound is working fine. We just finished showing The Dark Knight and now are showing Godzilla vs. King Kong.

Even if MM isn't showing up I'll still be broadcasting the movie friday night for those of you who don't have the movie or prefer having the movie and the chat on the same page.

Quick question for those planning on taking part in this on my channel. Do you want the stream to be private and only allow other kaijuphile members to join in via password, or do you want it open for anybody on JTV to join and watch?

Starting the stream at about 7:50 Eastern standard time and starting the movie at precisely 8:00. No whining if you get there late. Password is still Kaiju.
