Battle Master is heading in the right direction.
Default Test Play 2010 Rules & Info

HOW THIS WORKS

KAIJU STATS and FORMS

Stats being used for the competing kaiju are posted in the Combatant Stats sub-forum. They have all been adjusted so that the kaiju are of relative size and "competitive".

Transformations

Some kaiju have multiple FORMS they will use in the tournament. They progress toward their FINAL FORM via TRANSFORMATION or UPGRADE (for mechanical kaiju).

Any time such a kaiju ROLLS DOUBLES (11, 22, 33, etc.) during the FIGHT PHASE, it transforms/upgrades to its next stage. A roll of 00 does not count for Transformation since this is used to indicate a roll of 100.
When a kaiju transforms, its Offensive Power Number (OPN) INCREASES and all damage/wounds it has received is healed.

A kaiju may transform more than once during a match but once it reaches its FINAL stage, further transformations are not possible. Any transformations will be permanent FOR THE REST OF THE TEST PLAY unless there is still a HIGHER stage for the kaiju to advance to. Transformations can not be undone!

BATTLEFIELDS

Battlefields are drawn for each fight to provide a basic idea of what SETTING combat takes place in. They also play a role in the Fight Phase by providing BONUSES or PENALTIES to each kaiju's Defensive Power Number (DPN). Some kaiju have specific rules about Battlefield Cover which is noted in their Stats.

Also, some battlefields have Special Rules which may play out in addition to the combat between the monsters.

With *TWO* kaiju competing as a co-operative unit, TEAM ALIGNMENT will determine how some conditions/effects will play out:

Good/Good = Good
Good/Neutral = Good
Good/Evil = Neutral
Neutral/Neutral = Neutral
Evil/Evil = Evil
Evil/Neutral = Evil

A complete list of battlefields will be posted when the tournament begins.

MATCH-UPS

These are listed for each Round as a separate topic in the appropriate sub-forum, along with the results (Transcripts) of the battles when they are completed.

VOTING

Voting is conducted each Round in the fight topics which also serve as the DISCUSSION area for that match.
When the poll opens for voting, members can cast ONE vote for each fight. If someone votes on a fight more than once, ALL of their votes in that battle will be disqualified.
Once a vote is cast, it can not be changed so be careful what you select and click.

If it is found that any member is using multiple user names in an attempt to cast extra votes, they will be BANNED from participating in this and future Desumacchis. In addition, they will be given TWO Warnings.

FIGHT DISCUSSIONS/DEBATES

Please keep all fight discussions civil. Flaming, baiting, name-calling or insulting a fellow member will NOT be tolerated.

We created these tournaments to help expand people's views on how kaiju fight and operate, NOT as a platform for "fanboys" to vote without heed for the match at hand AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE DESUMACCHI STATS AND CONDITIONS;"promote" their favorite kaiju or carry out an "agenda" against a fellow member. There are plenty of opportunities for "campaigning" for personal kaiju favorites in the General Discussion forum.

AFTER VOTING HAS CONCLUDED

When the voting phase is completed, the percentage of votes the team received (100% of each vote FOR them, 60% of each LEAN vote to them, 50% of each ABSTAIN and 40% of each LEAN vote AGAINST them) becomes the "Team Power Number" (TPN).

The TPN is used to determine each monster's "Individual Power Number" (IPN):
This is the number they need to ROLL UNDER on a d100 to HIT their opponent during the Fight Phase of the Tournament. Team Power Numbers and Individual Power Numbers will always be rounded off to whole numbers.

TEST PLAY CONTENDERS
  1. Battra (Adult)
  2. Kamacuras (GFW)
  3. King Ghidorah (GMK)
  4. Mothra (Heisei) (Adult)

Teamed Kaiju
  1. Godzilla (Showa) / Anguirus (showa)
  2. Megalon / Gigan (Showa)
  3. Mothra (GMK) / Eleking
  4. Red King / Rodan (Showa)

The TPN is divided between the two kaiju as follows:

The first kaiju listed on a Team is the STRONG partner. Its IPN is 2/3 of the TPN and takes 2 wounds to kill.

The 2nd (WEAK) partner's IPN is 1/3 of the TPN and takes 1 wound to kill.

Team Power Numbers and Individual Power Numbers will always be rounded off to whole numbers.

Quote:
Example: Godzilla (Heisei) & Gigan (Showa) VS Legion

8 votes and 12 votes

============
Team Power Number for Godzilla & Gigan = 40

Godzilla - 27
Gigan - 15 (min.)
============
============
Individual Power Number for Legion = 60

TEAM PRIMAL NUMBERS

Working together to defeat their opponent, teamed kaiju will replace their Personal Primal Numbers (PPN) with a Combined Primal Number (CPN) which they will use unless their team mate is defeated.
The remaining Team kaiju will then use its own PPN.
