Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
Just to let you all know, I plan on putting the new chapter up tonight. It would have been sooner, but I had more pressing issues to attend to. Expect sometime around 11pm EST...

Oh wow... I must admit that had some really intersting developments. I particurly wonder about the "fleas" What are they from? Or are they origenal? I think that even if he were to wipe the Gyaos out Dr. Who still would warrent a death mark. I also like Dutilos personnality.

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
Awesome chapter, truely worth the wait! Our first look at Deutalios was just plain brilliant, and there were tons of interesting developments to note. Such as those "organisms." Are they redone Liquid People from that old Toho horror movie? Anyways, I can't wait to learn more of them, as well as any other foul tricks Deutalios has up his scaly sleeve.
Another thing, there was a quote by Dr. Who that caught my interest for a moment, the one about "small minds calling science that they cannot understand magic." Could it be that the International Judas has been visited by the Dark Dreams of Cthulhu at some point in his life? It'd certainly explain some things about him...

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
I have read chapter 2 Clint, and I have seen that it is good. Well done.
I too am curious about some things.
1. Who is this Colonel John Pike fellow? Does he come from a movie, another kind of story, or is he an original creation of yours?
2. Like Husnock, I'm curious about what exactly those liquid lifeforms are. Are they an original creation of yours, or did you lift them from some place?
Once again, nice work, and I'm looking forward to chapter 3.

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
As always, excellent Chapter, Clint!
Deutalios' appearance was marvelously done-- he's really turning out to become a nice for for Godzilla. Also, I just can't help but wonder if the book Hideki was reading was a homage to your books. It would fit nicely, imho. I thought Godzilla's appearance was great as well, I really can't wait to see him duke it out with Mothra in the near future.
Oh, one line in the whole story picqued my curiosity:
'The natives of Odo Island had worshipped a terrible sea monster for centuries before the rest of the world cowered before Godzilla. Who could say with certainty that their myths had been nothing more than legend?'
Hmm, does this mean we're going to see Yufune Nushi [ or something like him ] in the succeeding Chapters?
Peace,
Melkor

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
Wow, this chapter is pretty awsome, as we finally get to see just what Deutalios looks like, a large, vile rat with a horn, scales and spikes, and shark like teeth. I expected to see more fish in it, but its not a big deal.
I too am perplexed as to what exactally those blue Flea-like oozes are. Are they from some other source we have yet to know about, or are they your original crations, something to add to Deutalios' already vile arrsinol.
I like the inclusion of the Black Shark, a good inclusion from the same film Dr. Malik was from.
Also, it seems like you have pit Deutalios in the middle of the Iraqi war, which makes me assume this story takes place sometime in 2002-2003, sinse you also claimed this is also happneing only a few weeks after the end of the Battle with Bagan in Tokyo.
Also, it seems like there are a few new members of KNIFE, though I could be forgetting about a few who already have been in it. Who are these new memebers, and what kind of source material are they from?

Actually, I was assuming that was part of all the hostilities that broke out after King Ghidorah sucked up and/or set ablaze a good chunk of the world's oil supply, as mentioned in the first chapter.

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
I'm betting some version of Biolante is going to show up at some point, sensing the corruption of her shared cells with Godzilla.

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
Here's something else that I'm curious about. Aparently, Dr. Who planned to add some of Godzilla's own DNA to Deutalios' genetic cocktail, in order to give him the same kind of psychic link to the current Godzilla, that Biollante hand with the second Godzilla. What I wonder is, is this going to be DNA that's been taken from the current Godzilla, or is this going to be DNA from the second Godzilla, which Saradia perhaps still has samples of in storage?
I ask this because I can't imagine that Dr. Who's plan will work if he uses DNA from the second Godzilla. It seems to me that the reason that Godzilla and Biollante had that link is because they shared some of the same cells. Cells from Godzilla II's own body went into the creation of Biollante. If Deutalios is going to have that same kind of link, he'll need to share cells from the current Godzilla. Giving Deutalios cells from the elder Godzilla won't achieve the same effect because, although they share similar properties, the two Godzillas are two seperate creatures. See what I'm saying?
So, I'm going to assume for right now that Dr. Who has used DNA from the current Godzilla in the creation of Deutalios. However, I would really appreciate it if you would set me straight on this Clint. Okay?

Im Betting there would still be a Link if the 2nd Godzilla's cells were used, after all in Godzilla vs Destroyah The Elder Godzilla travled around the world looking for Junior(Current Godzilla). Im thinking Junior would still follow some sort of Link maybe thinking Deutilos is a member of his species or maybe his father himself.

Or perhaps Who is merely an avatar of Nyarlathotep!
As for the chapter, it was very good: The Iraqi conflict gives the story a good basis in reality, and I cheered when Godzilla nuked the Vietnamese scum! YEEHA!
Can't wait to find out what these liquid creatures are.

While Clint's stance on all things Communist is well-established, I hardly think that scene was written to garner cheers f support for a newly-malevolent Junior.

Re: Godzilla vs Deutalios
Mein Gott! :0
Deutalios is a truly nasty little creature. I came in thinking "Eh, it's only a fish rat, how much of a threat can it be?". Quite a bit of a threat, it turns out! And then there's Godzilla, a malevolent horror again, devastating Korea as he goes (North Korea at the moment, but ol' Goji seems unlikely to pay attention to the border divide between North and South). Add that to all the nasty background detail of Mothra and the Gyaos, Lord Conqueror committing untold atrocities in Manchuria, the outbreak of war all across the world, and the past of Dr Who...
Nobody's allowed to be happy in your fanfics, are they Clint?
Now the thing I'm most interested in is the leader of Saradia. He's a fascinating character- he's working with the most vicious and horrific scientists alive, but he's doing it to to keep his people fed. And he refuses to work with Batragon and let his nation become criminals. He's a very good character, and I hope he sticks around. (And maybe he'll just ASK for some G-cells next time...)

That doesn't mean she's gone for good.
Someone once told me awhile back that Clint had future plans for Biollante. Something about her splitting into "two separate individuals," though chances are he's saving it for a future story (probably its own, though it'd be cool and appropriate to see it occur in the upcoming Godzilla: The One).

I didn't say she was gone for good, I just was telling Denizen that she has shown up in the New Era. Now it would be interesting if Clint further expounds upon her splitting into two sets of spores traveling in opposite directions. Also, it would be interesting if he did something with SpaceGodzilla, Goji, and her. BWT, what is Godzilla: The One?

Godzilla:The One is an upcoming fanfic from Mr. Werner involving the return of what many consider an underrated kaiju, Spacegodzilla, and.... the... startling ....truth as to the beast's true nature . Hopefully it will be showing up soon enough.
