Ebirah...

You guys think that Ebirah will battle monsters now that he is stronger and more bulkier? If so, what monster do you want to fight against Ebirah?

I doubt Ebirah is going to have much screentime, regardless of his improved appearance. He just is not well liked in Japan like Anguirus, Rodan, Manda, and Mothra is. I'm simply expecting him to have a good attack on the submarine Atragon and a short 5 minute battle with Godzilla on the shores of some country.

I don't recall anyone saying Ebirah was stronger, we know nothing about him beside the fact that he looks different.

Uh, where did you pull that out of? Maybe Rodan and Mothra I could see, but where is the proof about Manda or Anguirus being more popular than Ebirah. Last time I checked, neither of them were very popular in Japan either.

I can't vouch for manda but Anguirus is very popular in Japan which is why Toho has made so many attempts to bring him back in the past few years. I believe he was suppose to make an appearance in the Heisei series but was cut out. He was then supposed to be in G2k but was replaced by King Shisa who was scrapped all together. Then he was suppose to be in GMK but was scrapped along with Varan He was also suppose to be the dead corpse that washed up on the shore in GMM but was replaced with Kameba because Toho execs feared a backlash from the fans if that were to happen. Obviously if Toho felt fans would be outraged by his dead corpse washing up on shore then he must be moderately popular. HE is at least tons more popular than Ebirah, kumonga, kamakiras, Minya, Gigan, Manda, and Hedorah seeing as how many times Toho has considered bringing him back.

Considered, but didn't actually do it. They wanted to bring him back, but they didn't because they knew he wouldn't be that big of a hit in Japan. TOHO likes Anguirus, American fans like Anguirus, Japanese Fans don't care for him.

Yep, which is pretty much why Baragon survived into the new GMK rewrite, but not Ang (which suprised me until I learned that Baragon was more popular over there).

one nothing ever said ebirah was stronger...two i dont see how he looks all new and improved...hes still a lobster. i dont get what all the fuss is about...its a LOBSTER! hes not a special lobster hes just really big. he cant do anything a normal lobster cant (proportion wise...obviously a real lobster cant lift a boulder). i fail to see whats so special...could someone explain this please?

and im not toho but i dont expect him to get a whole lot of screen time. thats coming from an unbiased perspective. forgetting the fact that im not fond of ebirah for a sec...i still cant see him being in the movie very long IMO.

Its the Menacing look, the spikier shell, and that all-around evil stare with those glowing red eyes! Now go to red-lobster and tell me if that comes to mind when you look in their lobster-tanks...haha!

and about the screentime...i think so too! But i always thought the fact that HIS design comes before Angilas' and Hedorah's, etc....means he is on their minds more-so than Ceesar, Hedorah, and sadly Angilas

I'm hoping he fights against Manda and Godzilla. Manda, because he mimself is a water creature just like Ebirah and thus would be well-suited for taking him underwater. And I believe we have a perfect match here, Ebirah's clawas against Manda's constricting, vice-like grip. A fight with Godzilla would also be memorable and maybe even inevitable. I'd personally like to see a recreation of their rock toss game, though that might diminish from Ebirah's overall menacing appearance.

Hmmm...... What if Ebirah had a special attack? I don't mean beams, I mean like he could swim @ mock4 (0r 5!) and cause hurricanes? I just think that might be kewl.

Uh, that wouldn't really be in character for Ebirah. Giving him any other attacks besides hth wouldn't really make sense for him...

The best thing I could see him getting is a nice suit of energy resistant carapace.

That and the ability to swack energy projectiles away with his claws.

This system is different. Ok anyways. You guys are not giving Ebirah the respect he deserves. Lobsters are tough and amazing creatures. He will be able to put up as good a tooth and claw fight as Ang or King Seeser.
