What will please you people?!?

For christ's sake since this film was announced there has not been one bit of news that has not been over analyzed and declared to suck. People have complained from this film being called The Godzilla. They then complained about it being called Godzilla Final Wars. People complained about the director. People complained about the actors. People complained about the plot. People complained about the kaiju in it. People complained because ghidorah wasn't in it then they complain because he is. People complain Toho uses the same monsters over and refuses to invent knew monsters. When they come up with monster x people complain. When we see the suits people complain. When one group is mentioned to do one song people complain. Is there not one thing about this film that will unify everyone?!? Does no one see the greater picture that this is this flick the ultimate G flick in the past 30-40 years? This film is not going to be crap as Toho wants this to be the swan song for the series for a while. Why can't people just sit back and relax?

I am beginning to think the fandom is filled with a bunch of Godzilla posers. People who just want to come to message boards to bicker. Last time I checked, a godzilla fan was someone who liked Godzilla films. From what I am reading the majority of the fandom has already pronounced this film crap despite knowing very little about it, seeing poor grainy pictures from the studio and watching a 19 second video clip featuring multiple kaiju and unpolished spfx. WE don't know anything about the sountrack of the film. WE just know one group is doing one song. Now last time I checked this was a Godzilla film. Yep this Godzilla looks to be impervious to most weaponry, he has a radioactive breath, and he is portrayed by a man in a suit. Yep I love this film already. See now wasn't that easy?

Amen brother. I actually haven't heard a single thing yet that has made me think I'll hate this movie. If anything its all made me even more excited to see it. Gigan cool, uber new Ghidorah cool, almost 2 hour running time cool, Godzilla vs GINO cool, American rock music cool, almost nonstop action cool, finally having Karate in a Godzilla movie (something I've always wanted to see by the way) super uber cool. I love it already.

So people are not allowed to discuss things if they don't like it?

Not everyone agrees with you that everything about this film is fine.

If people have a negative view on something, then what's wrong with it? Nothing. I don't like punk music, or anything to do with it. If I hear it at any time during the movie I will cringe. So yeah I am concerned about it.

But of course we're not fans according to you, because we don't accept everything Toho throws at us

Well, when I hear something, and it sounds horrible to me, I'm not going to say I like it just because it's in a Godzilla movie.

And I'm been displeased with alot of stuff coming out Final Wars.

Maybe when I see it, they will prove me wrong.

I'm fine with most of what's been announced, except for the punk music. But this needs to stop. People are judging a film that has yet to be released and is almost done with principal photography (It end's the 15th, doesn't it). I can't wait for this film. Some lameass punk band isn't going to ruin this film(though I wish they weren't involved at all). You just have to reserve your opinions until it comes out.

Frankly, I'm sick of the people complaining about the complaining. CBright hit the nail on the head. If I don't like something about the movie, I have no problem sharing my opinion about it.

But I agree that some of the debates got out of hand. The one about Godzilla's toes, for example.

At the moment I'm pretty pleased with things. Having seen the video wiped away most of my reservations about the movie. I can understand that certain people are going to have problems. The problem is that everyone has different preferences for Godzilla. My ideal movie is not someone elses.

That said there sure is a lot of *****ing going on.

It's perfectly fine to discuss on how you don't like what's been happening to Final Wars. This is a discussion board after all. It's when people go to lengths as to say the film will completely suck over something they don't like, or going so far as to call Kitamura a Paul Anderson for having Sum 41 write *some* music(not songs), this is what Allosaurz is talking about. He doesn't have a problem with negative opinions and discussion, the wrap is directed towards those who keep jumping the gun over little details.

1) the whole purpose of these boards is to discuss and debate. dont like it go find someplace where everyone always agrees with you. in my estimation it would be pretty boring.

2)as long as no one is being offensive to another member they have every right to state their opinion. if they think gfw will suck so be it. i think having sum 41 in a godzilla movie will totally suck...dont like what i just said? too bad deal with it thats my opinion and im not complaining im just telling you what i think.

3)all of you quit whining because others dont agree with you. not everything about this movie will be greeted with a "OMG YESS THAT IS AWESOME!!!111111" from everyone because we are all different and have different tastes. thats what makes us INDIVIDUALS.

It's some of the suit designs which displeases me.

Good directors please me.
A cheesy, flashy director handling a cultural icon displeases me.

Reading different opinions pleases me.
Reading various attacks (not just disagreements) on those opinions displeases me.

Let's put it this way. Imagine if they had message boards in the showa days. OH MY GOD THE KONG SUIT SUCKS I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ARE USING IT THIS MOVIE WILL BE HORRIBLE!!! The best case scenario is this film becomes a box office success and becomes one of the greatest Godzilla films of all time. Worst case scenario this becomes a departure like Godzilla vs The smog monster. A film that is not the greatest but is still considered likeable by the fans. I have nothing against critiquing a film. I do it all the time. BUt what has been going on the message boards for the last several months hasn't been critiquing. IT's just been downright *****ing. There is a difference between saying I don't think Sum 41's music will work in GFW and OH MY GOD THEY ARE USING THOSE HACKS SUM 41 THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO SUCK NOW BECAUSE I HAVE TO LISTEN TO 3 SECONDS OF A SONG FROM A BAND I DON'T LIKE.

no one said ANYTHING about this ruining the franchise or them not liking the movie because of a song. and you just admitted if they had forums back in the day they would have complained about kongs suit, etc...so you understand that so whats the problem?

ya know what what do you care what other people think? so what if people freak out and complain that sum 41 is doing music for gfw...what do you care? i heard people freak out over GINO being in it too. i stated my opinions by i didnt get all hyper over people complaining about it. if you dont want to hear them complain there is two options

1) utilize the IGNORE feature of the forums
2) dont come here.

But I'm not *****ing about the movie. Instead I am *****ing about the *****ing about the movie. Also I can't ignore everyone on the forum as there would be no point to come here. It just gets tiring of reading 10 pages of nothing but *****ing and moaning about a movie that isn't going to come out for another 3 months.

I'm finding that the people whining about the people not liking the movie are getting more annoying and disruptive than the people who don't like how the movie is turning out in the first place!

So what if people don't agree with you that the movie isn't going 'uber super awesomeness!!11', get over it, posting topics like this is just as, if not more so, disruptive than what they're doing.

If your tired of seeing other peoples opinions about the movie, then just don't come to this part of the forum period.

This is what I plan to enjoy about the film, Godzilla fighting Zilla, Rodan, Mothra, Ebirah, King Seesar, Gigan, Monster X, the Xians are back, Godzilla looks awesome, all of the monsters look tight, but I do wonder why Baragon isn't in the film. The only things I really don't look forward to are the deaths of Godzilla and Minya

I don't care about people not liking Sum 41 in this movie. Doesn't bother me. IT's different strokes for different folks as they say. What bothers me would be people saying that one song from sum 41 is going to ruin the ENTIRE movie for them. I mean back in December when we knew nothing about this film people were *****ing about the tentative project title The Godzilla. ISn't that a bit anal don't you think. Yes it is possible to have a negative opinion about parts of this film and not whine. In GMK I was not fond of the Gsuit, the music, or GMK King ghidorah. This those points ruin the movie for me? No they didn't. All I am saying is how can a movie be ruined when it hasn't even been finished?

but making threads like this only makes the problem bigger. if they feel that way fine let them be that way cuz you know they are gonna see the movie anyways and probably love it. so just let it slide. my problem is that you made the problem a lot bigger than it needed to be by making this thread. and not only that your doing the exact same thing your complaining about even though you think its the lesser of the two evils. i understand that but also understand that to the rest of us this *****ing is as bad as the other *****ing.

bottom line - let people think what they want. dont let it bother you. express your opinion and when you see someone say "nooo pauly shore and carrot top are in this movie its ruined!!!" just let it go man. no one watches the movies for the music anyways they watch it for the kaiju battles.

I see where you're coming from, Allo, and I agree to an extent. Some people have a tendency to get worked up over nothing, or complain without given reason.

On the other hand, I believe that there are many valid reasons for concern. I myself don't like where "Final Wars" appears to be heading (though with that said, I'll always keep an open mind until seeing the film). The Americanization going on is painstakingly obvious, and that's something I totally disagree with. While I have no problems with the individual ideas (Don Frye, Sum 41, ect), the bigger picture suggests Toho are far more interested in milking as much money as they can from international countries than actually producing a good film.

Like I say, I'll keep an open mind until I see it, but I feel my concerns are more than valid, and I'll remind you "the ultimate G flick in the past 30-40 years" is purely your interpretation (that and Toho's "Engrish" advertising, which essentially claims it's going to be better than all the Toho classics - both insulting an egotistical).

Well, now, that's not entirely true. I have a lot of attachment to Toh's muscial history and, while I don't go see movies just for the music, I do enjoy it a lot. Even now the soundtrack for GMMG is in my car CD player.
