What would YOU like to listen to?
I personally think the theme song for Final Wars, "We're All to Blame" by Sum 41, kicks royal ***. I was surprised Sum 41 could crank out a song such as this.
However, if you got a chance to decide what Godzilla: Final Wars' theme song would be, what would you choose?
Rules: It has to be some kind of band known in the States, as to keep in continuity with what Kitamura is going for.
I would like to hear Streamline, by System of a Down.

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla". If we have to have a Western band doing music & theme song, let's have a cool one actually about Godzilla.

There are only two choices that come to mind for me. Slipknot and Rollins Band.

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
"Super Beast" by Rob Zombie. This song kicks royal *** and fits Godzilla perfectly...too bad it was used for G2K...
"Devil With Out A Cause" by Kid Roc. Again, IMHO, this also fits Godzilla well...but I'm not sure if many people know it.
"Bodies" by Drowning Pool. Apparently Goji is gonna be killing kaiju left and right...you get the picture.
"Hell's Bells" by ACDC- Just seems like Godzilla kicking ***...

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla". Seriously, it's wwwwwwaaaaayyyy past time that we had this song in an actual Godzilla movie.
Also, why does it have to be a band that is big in the States? Tomiyama said he was going for an international market, not just an American one.

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
Because if it's big in the states, there's a chance it might be big everywhere.
That, and the fact that Kitamura went for a band you would see in MTV really shows which country his forucs for this movie is on(that being the 'states)

That just voided anything I was going to suggest. But, I guess I'll post anyway...
1st choice is "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult. 'Nuff said.
2nd choice would probably be "And The Story Ends" by Blind Guardian. It's a rather bizarre song to listen to at first, which would well suit how GFW is shaping up to be.
3rd choice, "Prepare for War" by DragonForce. If you read the lyrics, it actually fits very well with GFW. "Raging fear from skies above the fire fills my veins/destruction of humanity the everlasting flame..."

And where are they better known now? I said a band popular or known in the states, it doesn't mean it has to come *from* the states.
(My plan is working.. now I shall download all these songs )

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
disturbed - down with the sickness - who wouldnt get pumped fighting to this song?
rob zombie - superbeast
korn - falling away from me
godsmack - awake
flaw - payback - incredible band that isnt widely known...i highly recommend them.
iron maiden - the wicker man - the best band of the 80's IMO
finger eleven - first time
probably a lot more...just cant think of them right now.

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
Well the classical music first, but if I had to say otherwise. Heavy freaking metal. It would fit the image of giant monsters and mass death and destruction. Get some Slayer, Pantera, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Hatebreed, Gwar, Napalm Death.... yeah!

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
Well most any song by Powerman 5000 would be cool, particularly Bombshell or When World's Collide.
Papa Roach- Getting Away with Murder (just heard it last night, it freakin rocks)
Mudvayne- I Stand
Disturbed- Intoxication

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
I agree with everybody that said "Superbeast" by Rob Zombie...
"Aerials" by System of a Down. Not as a theme for Godzilla, but it just seems like the perfect kind of music for the opening credits.
Almost anything by Flaw, Slipknot, and the like.
"Blackened" by Metallica
I'll try and think of a few more later...

Not really true on this point. In fact most things that aren't as popular anymore are much larger in Europe. Take Metal for instance, a great band like Iron Maiden can't even tour the US anymore because they can't pull the crowds. But when they play anywhere other than the US they sell out huge outdoor venues, drawing crowds that bands in the US could only hope to draw.
As far as music goes, the US is well behind Europe in the way it views it and supports it. They also have a much broader range of acceptance to the many various types of music, something that you don't find in the US.

OFF TOPIC: When I saw Maiden in the summer of 03, the arena was pretty packed and their last album debuted pretty high on the charts. They are going strong everywhere.

Breed 77 - La Ultima Hora
If no that, one of Nightwish's more dramatic and orchestral songs

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
"Extreme Days" by TobyMac - Well, considering the apocalyptic setting of GFW, this song could fit.
There's a Linkin' Park song that could do well as a theme, I just can't remember its title.

Re: What would YOU like to listen to?
If there ever was a time for Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla to hit a movie, it's now. Failing that, Super Beast by Rob Zombie or Toxic Waltz by Exodus.

Hmm, this is what I want
Hero- the song off SpiderMan the movie
Open Your Heart- Themesong off Sonic Adventure (the title of the song sucks, but the song itself is awsome!)
What I'm made of- Metal Overlord's theme on Sonic Heroes
In the End-Linkin Park
