Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
Dante's about to get fired up about all the responses, and so am I (not mad though). So I thought a discussion thread was in order.

The place is so tight that Dante has nowhere to run, possibly the most important strategy against BS is hit-and-run but it's so cramped that BS can follow Dante easily. BS can also simply jump up and down and cave the entire cave in on Dante, while he eventually digs his way out. Dirt quells flames, and rocks aren't flammable. Fire isn't going to do anything to BS except get him pissed off even more.

For one, when the fire does hit BS, he it is going to do damage! He isn't invincible.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If the place is so tight that Dante can't run, then BS wouldn't even be able to move! He is more than a foot taller than Dante, and he weighs almost 500lbs! He has the same body as The Hulk (though he isn't actually TH). And if BS can follow Dante, he wouldn't be able to see him. Dante could just run, or crouch down in a corner, and BS would just walk by him, and then Dante would hit him while his back was turned.
Plus you are saying that BS would win because his speed is higher. But it is only one point higher than Dante's, and that isn't a big difference. And if you say that one point does make all the difference, then that would suck for BS because Dante's Reflexes and Acrobatics are a point higher than BS's.
And one final thing. For everyone's convienance, I have posted the stats for both fighters below.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
BS Digital Q
Height: 8 ft
Weight: 467 lbs
Fighting Style: None
Affiliations: None
Weapons: Sheer brute strength; great jumping ability
Strength: 10
Speed: 6
Reflexes: 6
Intelligence: 6
Acrobatics: 7
Movelist
None
Method of Attack: BS Digital Q is nothing to scoff at. Although his speed is only average and his intelligence is lacking, his sheer brute force is almost on par with that of Angilas (aka "Angiru-San"). He is a great jumper for his size, which can also spell trouble for his opponent. BSDQ can easily take bullets and missiles without serious harm; in fact, he may be able to even swat away missiles known to destroy tanks. However, BSDQ does not come without his drawbacks - as stated before, he’s not very fast or smart (both of these can be taken advantage of), and his regeneration has its limits compared to Orga_99's or Pure Evil 305's. Still, be warned - a battle against him could prove to be fatal to the weak.
---
Dante
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 170 lbs
Fighting Style: Art of Two Swords and Devil Flame
Affiliations: None
Weapons: Two broadswords; flames (generated from hands); Inferno Blade (beam of concentrated fire from sword)
Strength: 10
Speed: 5
Reflexes: 7
Intelligence: 6
Acrobatics: 8
Movelist
1. Devil Flame (Dante sends four upward-reaching ‘spikes’ of flame)
2. Devil Flame Feint (Dante pretends to use his Devil Flame - fake-out)
3. Skyfire (Dante does a fiery flying uppercut attack)
4. Riot Stomp (Dante does a flying kick attack)
Method of Attack: Dante is sheer brute force on two legs. His two swords are very sharp and even being hit by the flat side is enough to break a human skull. Despite this he prefers to keep on the defensive, his swords blocking fireballs and deflecting lasers. Once he becomes aggressive, watch out! Dante is fabled to draw power from the stars and bring his flames to a power incomparable. However, he is slow in moving, and this can be exploited.

...I didn't mean it literally. I mean that i BS comes in with an attack, it's not like he can just swish to the side and go around him because the area is tight.

Dude, it's not pitchblack. It's just a little dark.
And how exactly is Dante going to see him if it *is* pitchblack? using flames would blow his "cover".

BS' speed being higher means Dante can't outrun BS, or get lost out of his sight.

|
Acrobatics are null and void in this tight cave, and BS is so large Dante wouldn't be able to try flipping over him anyway.
Reflexes are all that Dante has going for him, and because the arena is so tightly spaced, it doesn't help much. Picture it this way: BS throws a jab, and Dante rushes to the side to avoid it. The jabbed fist follows Dante, yet Dante can't move any furhter because he's stuck in a corner.

Re: Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
Ahh, the cave is large. It is only short. This means that BSDQ will have a hard time moving due to his incredible size.
The stalagmites and stalagtites will cause him much irritation. I have size on my side.
If he attempts to break them, he only wastes time and casue rubble to fill the cave floor. This makes it harder for him to move. While he is breaking the formations, I can launch a Devil Flame or Inferno Blade to cause massive damage fronm a distance.

Re: Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
If he swings at the cave, large chunks are going to be headed in Dante's direction. Bs isn't going to simply watch DS shoot flames at him.
If the cave is large, then BS isn't going to have trouble moving around, then. After all, for the cave to be relatively large for both fighters the ceiling should be at least 20 feet up.

I said large as in wide. Just because it is wide doesn't mean it is tall. The description says it has a low ceiling. Why would it be 20 feet for me. I am just over 6 feet, tall for me would be something like 10 feet.

I can move around easier. If he swings hunks of rock at me then I can dodge them. This is a great chance for me to utilize my high reflexes and acrobatics.

Okay, now to quote the description of the battlefield:

First off, like Dante said, the area would be wide, in which Dante could dodge side-to-side. Also, he has two miles in the cave, so Dante could simply run backwards, and with the complete darkness, BS wouldn't know which way he went. Not to mention with the darkness, BS wouldn't be able to see Dante to hit him. And when Dante's DF goes off, yes it would give away his cover for a second, but after the attack is executed, the flame would go away and BS would not be able to see Dante, that s unless BS caught on fire. And BS's speed or reflexes aren't good enough to attack Dante before the DF gets to him.
And another thing:

What makes you so sure that Dante wouldn't back BS into a corner and attack him? BS may be bigger, but they are the same strength. Just because BS is based off the Hulk, that doesn't mean he will always be on tha offensive, and Dante on the Defensive.

It's not just rock, though, it's dust and dirt. It's a spray of earth that could temporarily blind Dante.

That still doesn't change the fact that BOTH are alone in the dark, and if Dante uses his flames to see, he'll be a sitting target.

BS isn't deaf, you know. Footsteps are a dead giveaway, so running around would only get him caught as well. And the Dark Flame is a cascading wave of fire. BS can track Dante once it's been shot.

You're relying too much on the stats. Demon Eyes himself said that just because two opponents have a strength of 10 doesn't mean they're evenly matched. BS is still physically stronger, and you can't tell me that BS and Dante can find themselves in an even griplock because BS is that much larger. If Bs is caught in a corner, he's going to train right through Dante.

I already addressed that. He would only be seen for a second, and in that second, BS would get attacked. By the time he recovered, it would be dark again.

The same thing goes for Dante. When BS walks, because he weighs so much, you would definatly be able to hear him. So that applies for both people.

I asked Treize about that. How big BS doesn't necessarily mean anything if they are the same strength.

But flames don't disperse so easily, especially not Dante's flames. You're acting like they would be shut down in split seconds.

Unless of course they are very very far away from each other.
If Dante lights a fire to see his way going, he's gonna see what's around him, but he won't bee able to see all the way on the other sides of the caves. The caves would be pitch black on either side of him. However, Bs would be able to clearly see him, and throw a boulder before Dante could hope to see it. If you require an illustration of what I'm talking about, then say so.

|
And I have a QUOTE from Treize, stating:
Quote:
|
Angiru-San, BS Digital Q, and Henry Venetta, for example, would probably have a 10+ score. DEP's, Husnock's and Dante's strength score is, in all probability, just a straight 10. Characters like the latter two are just slightly weaker than their 10+ counterparts.
|
They are not equal in strength, and the added size of BS makes the difference. BS could hold Dante in his hands and slam his head into the cave ceiling where Dante cannot simply because he lacks the reach. And when BS swings a punch, by laws of physics it's going to hurt more than a punch from Dante of the same swing-type.

With nothing to feed the fire to keep it going, it would die down in seconds, unless, like I said, BS gets caught on fire.
And if Dante is very far away from BS, niether one would be able to hear the other. It doesn't say anything in BS's bio about having extraordinary hearing.

Dante doesn't need to have a light to know where he's going. He can just use the side of the wall to guide him straight. The only thing he needs the flame for is attacking BS. Or, Dante could stay completly still and wait to hear BS move, and then he could Devil Flame his butt!

Why would dust be flying around. When he breaks the rock it will make dust, but it stays in the area where it was made. When you cut something, the dust falls down or hangs in the air. Only the wind moves it. I doubt there is wind in the cave.

The quote from Parker also said that the difference is only slight. I doubt this will affect it much. And the size won't have much of an effect.
It is like the old question I heard: Which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of lead? It doesn't matter, they are both a pound.
Just because he is larger, the force is the same.

I think you need to read my post again. Isn't it true that BS has superior reach over Dante? Why doesn't anyone ever consider this? BS can quite literally slap both hands together, clamping Dante within them, and Dante's hands'll be trapped. Dante would be able to escape with flames, but only after receiving a possible headbutt or being slammed headfirst into the ceiling. ANd what if BS catches Dante by the leg or even the pony tail? He can swing Dante around like a slingshot and there would be NOTHING Dante can do about it. Dante can't do the same to BS because BS is too large, Dante's reach doesn't work with it, and he's too heavy, Dante can't hope to swing BS around the same way BS can swing Dante around.

He is going to have a hard time moving with the low ceiling. The rock formations will hinder movement. I doubt he can bend his arms around the rocks.
As I said earlier, he will have to break them or just get frustrated. This gives me a chance to hit him long range or move around him and hit him. I will have an easier time because I am a lot shorter.

Exactly how low to the ground is it? If it's 10 feet high a ceiling than yes, BS would have trouble, but if it's 20 feet tall BS isn't going to have that much trouble moving around. And he's not stupid enough to try jumping at you. Lunging is a possibility, though.

Re: Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
He says it's 12 feet up. That's perfecly enough room for BSDQ to move around.

Re: Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
Even if it is filled with gigantic stalagmites and such?
So, two feet makes that much of a difference?

Stalagmites are on the ground, and they would hinder Dante as much as they'd hinder BS. In fact, they are more to BS' favor since if BS so much as kicks at them they become projectile weapons against Dante.
Also, stalagmites usually procreate on the sides of the cave, but I could be wrong in this instance.

I am not as big as BS either. I won't have to worm around them or smash them.

My reflexes and acrobatics will play in here. I can dodge them. Also, he would have to find me to throw things at me.

I think that these formations form where ever water drips into the cave. Doesn't the bio say they are everywhere?

I believe Dante is right here. The Stalagmites are usually not on the ground, or the walls. Usually they hang from the ceiling.

No, those are stalactites. There are two of them, stalaGmites and stalaCtites. I meant to say both of them.

Re: Discussion: BSDQ vs. Dante
This just in: The ceiling is 12 feet. That means it is 4 feet above BS's head. So he can't jump at Dante, and he can barely lift his hands over his head. And if he does, he will get poked by a stalgmite, or stalactite, whichever it is. That would make if very difficult to throw things.
