Godzilla vs MGII DVD?

GEEZ! Try as I might, I just can't seem to get a better version of GvsMG2 than the old fan sub-titled VHS I got back in 1994! Can't they just make a regular version of it for DVD? They can do it for for frigging Gigan, Hedorah, and even both of the Minya flicks! But,for some reason GvsMG2 is always screwed up! Guess I'll have to keep looking for a Japanese DVD of it.

Also, in the first battle, Mechagodzilla immitates Godzilla's high pitched cry, which is also kind of odd. Also, when Baby Godzilla breaks from that box, and cries into the sky, Godzilla's roar is mixed in with his cry.

Yeah, And MG's really deep, thounder-like-sounding roar, which he uses in the first battle while walking toward Goji in the English track is a higher-pitched not-as-impressive-sounding roar in the Japanese version. That really annoyed me. Though, I'm glad they used it sometime in the last fight...

Well, it looks like we'll never know the truth, nor have a good GvsMG2 DVD. And why is the wide-screenness of this film different then, lets say, that of SOG? Won't they all filmed with the same wide screen 2:whatever something that makes them the way they are? I just feel like I'm missing something... like when I watch the full-screen (or pan screen, whatever you call it) of a movie, when you know there's a wide screen version out there and that half the movie's gone. Oh well......

That one I can answer: the Heisei Godzilla films were shot in widescreen but not the same, wider "Tohoscope" aspect ratio as the Showa or Millennium films.

MGII looks the way it's supposed to and the way it was released in Japan.

Thanks for the info Keith! At least that makes my feel better. So, then, the wider-wide screen of Sony's GvsSG/GvsD double-feature DVD isn't the way it was suppossed to be, eh?
