Anyways, it is great to know that Godzilla vs. Hedorah is coming back to the official domain movie market- it's been 10 years since it was last seen on "real" video. Hopefully we will be getting these in widescreen too!

While I am happy these films are coming out, I am not happy that the possibilities of re-releasing of the Heisei films. I already have the two-disc sets of G vs. KG/G vs. M and G vs. SG/G vs. D. I would not want to re-buy the films. But, unfortunately, if the other films aren't sold seperately, I guess I have no choice.

this is indeed awesome news. im getting ever closer to transferring all my g films to dvd. now if they would only release g85 and gvsbiollante. oh well i still have every film on vhs but im waiting patiently for the rest.

Godzilla will be the furthest thing from my mind at that time (getting married October 16th, 2004) The only Kaiju I have to worry about then is BRIDEZILLA! hehehe

I guess I'll have to wait till I return from a well-deserved Vacation to pick up these releases. Until then I'll suffer with my VHS copies...
P.S. I agree...I want a copy of "Gojira" too! (R1, subtitled) I finally saw the original up in Chicago after G-Fest and it's so much better than G:KOTM. And if Sony actually gains the rights to G'85 & GvBio I'll be friggin' orgazmic!

GvsBio & GvsMGII are my favorites of the Heisei series and neither are on DVD! arrrggh!

Honeymoon? Sounds an awful lot like MONEYMOON.... Now that's something I'm going to need a lot of if I'm going to acquire these discs before they go out of Print.

And this time G-fans, lets try to be a little more supportive this time of Sony's releases. For Sony's Millenium and Classic Media releases, most G-fans just complained:

"These movies are pointless to buy without special features!!! why arent't there special features on them?? I'm not buying them now, I can't buy from a company that can't even include bonus features on the DVDs!!!!!"

We should be thankful of them releasing these films on DVD in the first place.

I've never even SEEN Godzilla vs Hedorah. That's why I'm excited (amazon wants 80 bucks for a VHS!).

Sony? Sony has great quality. Classic Media's King of the Monsters is also pretty good.

I like sony, the only problm with it is they can get lazy with the subtitles and just put in what they dubbed, i mean it could be right, but i know that some of those lines are wrong. I dunno about you guys, but i prefer watching kaiju movies in their original language.

Personally, I could care less about dialogue. I am there for the kaiju action. People and their plot twists are only a plus.

i agree gorjirus. thats why i dont give a crap if the translations are right or not...i get the idea of whats going on instead of listening to a language i cant understand.

Can't bloody wait. I don't care much about extras (a trailer or two would be nice), I just want to own the films in Japanese with anamorphic widescreen.

Let's see. In the 3-Disc set will at least contain Godzilla vs Gigan. The 5-disc will have at least Godzilla vs Gigan and Godzilla vs Hedorah, and the 7-disc set will have at least Godzilla vs Destroyah and Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla and I believe Godzilla 2000.

Other than those titles, I have no clue what will be in them...

These three titles will also be sold seperatly:

Godzilla vs Gigan
Godzilla vs Hedorah
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla

Though I ain't heard anything official yet, I'm ASSUMING the seven disc set consists of G98, G2K, GvsSG/GvsD, GvsKG/GvsM, GXM, GMK, and GXMG. Note that the ones in bold are confirmed by Sony's site.

Sony keeps improving with the more Kaiju movies they release, releasing Godzilla vs Megaguirus was cool, but when Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla came out, we got accurate subtitles, now they'll probably try to put in more extras. And I hope all these films are widescreen

Wow, can't wait for October!

Will the 7-Disc Set contain the movies from the 3-Disc set, or are they completely different? In other words, will it be necessary to purchase the 3-Disc, 7-Disc and whatever single titles they put out?

I waited before getting any showa movies on DVD (just watched my old tapes over and over) and it seems like the wait is going to pay off. I wonder if we'll finally get widescreen, uncut versions (ToMG)...?

The boxes have the same discs anyway, pretty much. No point in getting them. They're geared towards non-kaijufans for sure. I wonder if this about an uncut G2K is really true though.

Sony has the rights to EBIRAH and SON and they will be released on DVD later. They just struck new 35mm, English subtitled of both films-- EBIRAH premiered at the Egyptian's film festival in June and EBIRAH and SON will both be shown at the Film Forum's Godzilla festival later this month.

I liked their movie, you should say I, not we... And I think box sets are cheaper usually than buying seperate discs.
