Godzilla vs Zilla: How would you do it?

I know that it happened in GFW, but I feel that fight was limited because Toho flet that they had to make it so Goji was invincible. I'd have an american director who has no opinion of the two, so no bias. Get Tarantino on the job. And no doing suit monster vs CGI monster, that was dumb. It would be sort of difficult to do a big fight because of the limited mobility of the Goji suit. Get the SFX team from LOTR in. And have Zilla pumped up to his Toon power standards.

Okay back on topic! I think people would like the idea of a slug fest between these two that would last more than a few seconds. I think that's what fans were hoping for in GFW as well. Even if Zilla didn't stand a chance I think fans would've been content with Goji giving his american counterpart a solid beating for atleast a couple of minutes. I know I would have.

Well the whole point of Zilla losing so fast was just to prove that the Japanese Godzilla is the one and only. But if I were to have a fight between the two, I would have Zilla use his agility and burrowing ability plus his green atomic breath to match Goji's breath and strength. Sort of like a Baragon/Megaguirus type thing if that helps at all.

But I, too, would increase the duration. Because a savage beating like the kind I'd have in mind takes time, effort, and a lot of blood.

Hell yeah Cole you got the right idea, what the hell is the sudden obsession with churching up Zilla, he sucks and he got his *** whomped on, get over it. Godzilla is the best and Zilla is just some cheap afgan knock off (no offense to anyone). I think people are thinking into this issue too much, but thats just me.

My best friend(and kaiju fan) totally loves GINO/Zilla. You can imagine that when we heard how easily and quickly Goji trounces Zilla, I would cheer where he would boo.

I have no problem with what Goji did to Zilla, but I suppose to appease to the widest variety of the kaiju fandom they can at least let Zilla get one hit in.

The fight would be very brutal in my version. It would include Zilla burrowing, and Godzilla being able to fry him in his hole. It would be a 2 minute fight.

Eh... I'd rather see something more worthy of such a confrontation. Not some studio thumping it's chest about something that happened about 7-8 years ago.

Me? If such a match-up were to be needed... I'd make it worth it.

It'd be very physical, as GINO/Zilla's superior mobility/speed (compared to Godzilla) would almost make Godzilla's atomic breath a useless tactic unless getting a clear open shot. I wouldn't let Zilla go down without at least putting up a better fight. He'd tear into Godzilla with his claws and teeth, forcing the Big G to go Tooth and Claw as well. After a big hand-to-hand struggle, both combatants getting bloodied, Godzilla throws his iguana counterpart onto the ground, and tries to frie him with the atomic breath, but Zilla dodges again, and tries to dig his way underground.

So like in GMK, Godzilla's looking around, waiting for his opponent to appear again, Zilla launches from from underground, right towards Godzilla's juggular like a rabid dog on steriods, latching on tight and refusing to let go. Godzilla, taken completely by surprise, tries in vain to get Zilla off his neck via his hands, and when that fails, resorts to the good ol' Atomic Pulse, which shocks Zilla off finally, leaving a decent wound where the mutated marine iguana once was. Godzilla, angrily marches towards Gino/Zilla.

In a flash, Zilla's onto it's feet and unleashes it's own hurricane/green flame breath... giving Godzilla that needed opening... answering with his own atomic fire.

For a few brief seconds, both combatants are locked in a "tug of war" between both their breath weapons... but in the end, the original... the obvious choice... Godzilla, wins out as his superior breath pushes past GINO's and scores a direct hit, right into Zilla's mouth, turning the creature's head to ashes.

If GINO/Zilla is to lose... at least let him look a little cool while doing it.

I would have godzilla and GINO fight in new york. godzilla of couers using his strength and atomic ray and GINO using nothing but his agillaty and his teeth and claws. With the fight going back and forth between godzilla and GINO. finaly have godzilla use his tail to trip GINO and then pound on him to the ground befor godzilla blasts GINO to kingdom come. Thats how id do it.

I'd make it a CGI-battle all the way. Get the Gamera 3 crew to do it and have it be a slugfest. Have it be fairly even with Godzilla and ZIlla each getting the upper hand once or twice before it all slowly goes downhill for Zilla until finally, Godzilla lifts the defeated Zilla over his head and blasts him in two with his breath weapon.

The thing is that Zilla isn't singled out for a quick beating; he's just one of several monsters--including Gigan, Kumonga, Kamakiras, Ebirah, and Hedorah--that is defeated quickly by Godzilla. Gigan lasts about 15 seconds in his one-on-one fight with Godzilla; Hedorah even less than that, so Zilla doesn't fare any worse than most of the Toho kaiju.

I can't argue with how it was done. It's definitely the crowd-pleasing moment, in a movie that's full of them, seeing the useless Tristar iguana get what it deserves.

Of course, if the movie had fewer monsters and more time to fill, the fight could have been prolonged. The outcome would never change, though. Godzilla pwns a lot of kaiju in GFW. Toho Zilla would make a good match for Kamakuras or some of the other GFW kaiju, but the original Goji is still the King.

Agreed.. Poor Hedorah, first fillayed by Ebirah then blasted by Godzilla.

If I directed that fight, I would keep the same basic idea, but prolong it to a few more minutes. The scene would start when it showed Zilla being beamed down by the Xians, and instead of the hardly worth mentioning Sum 41 song, I'd have I ****ing Hate You by Godsmack kick in (read the lyrics, its the absolute perfect song for this kind of fight), and the fighting would be fast and brutal. Zilla would evade Godzilla's beam several times, but it would be all over when he gets EDIT slapped by his tail and, well, you know what happens from there on.

Speaking of "getting around" the censor, it doesn't work like you might think because here I am, chewing you out, right? We're talking kaiju here, not ghetto trash with their limited vocabulary.

I'd leave it how it is.. except maybe to have that first beam nuke GINO instead of letting him dodge it. Sums up the whole GINO vs. Godzilla thing nicely with Gino bulling in and getting vaped right off the bat.

I would keep it the way it is now. Sweet, short and to the point: Zilla freakin' sucks! I would have him cower in fear and THEN die a horrible death by a massive pummeling and then a radi-breath.

I would make it longer and more brutal. maybe give zilla his beam but make the fight very physical. with zillas agility easily evading godzilla's beam but with godzilla being able to send zilla flying with his atom pulse. the fight would be pretty evely matched until zilla weakens godzilla enogh for a final charge but before he can connect he gets flung into the sydney opera house and then vaped.
I see no need to continually bash zilla. its not his fault a japanese sailor just saw his claws and tail and mistook him for godzilla. hes really a trajic being, hated by millions just because the americans are to oblivious to pay any attention to what goes on in japan and thinking their dealing with godzilla.
you all should be ashamed of yourselves for continually bashing him like that!

My idea is Glorified RAPE of GINO.

Goji would beat him down, throwing him into Buildings, slapping him around like a Rag-Doll. Goji would rip out that things' Spines, and then shove'd into Zilla's Gut. And then left too bleed too Death...Cut back too GINO every 10 minutes.
