Super heroes

In celabration of the "Incredibles" (really great movie. 5 stars.), I think that we should all gather up and talk about our own super heroes.

Ok, first off, my superhero is basiclley a cross between mr. incredible, Predator, spiderman, and the master chief from the game halo (anyone played that game?). I do not know what my superhero would look like, but he would have tons of cool toys and gadgets. Including guns. His abillities would be climbing, flying (he has a backpack that shoots out a flying machine that, well, makes him fly!), gun aim, sword fighting, super strength, and awesomeness. And when he's in REAL trouble, he can call in his buddy PAULOZOR!!! But if it's not that much of an emergency, but he needs backup, he'll send an emergency message and then marines will come to his aid.

Is that cool or what?! However, I don't know what to call him. I stink at giving names to stuff. LOL. Any suggestions?

BTW, if your superhero has a girlfreind, please mention her too. I don't know what mine would be, but it would probably be a cross between Shego and that gorl from the incredibles movie. Bot that I have a crush on them or anything. I already got a crush at church. LOL.

Also talk about his/her secret idenity. Mine would probably be....um....I don't know (see? I told you I was bad at making names!). Anyway, I hope you enjoy this topic.

This dude would basically have the powers of VJoe plus Time Traveling. His list of powers would be super speed, slow motion, freeze time, reverse time, fast forward time. Also, when he freezes time, he has super strength and can fly because Gravity is frozen in that process also. He wears torn clothes and has extremely pale skin. He has the physique of a zombie.

This dude has no super powers himself, but his gadgets allow him to kick some ***. He has the physique of a tall athletic teen. He wears a helmet with a visor that has a built in computer and can analyse stuff. He has a hoverboard that can go at Mach 21. Lastly, he is armed with a Laser Sword similar to a Light Saber but much more powerful.

I'll post some of them...

Vikion: An andriod, who has the AI of a human. Some one also forgot to put in self restraints along the way...so, when he learns that he was created to kill the president, and take over(He can make a hologram that makes him appear human) he breaks free, killing the people who made him, and escapes. He poses as a wondering male, around 26, who gets a job over in New York. Problem is this: the Government(The corperation who created him) had installed a tracking device, incase he ever went AWOL. They put out a bulletine that states he is an escaped, malfuctioning robot. They also state that he will kill anyone on site, and that they should report him if they see him. Well, his powers are as such: he can 'charge up' energy in any one of his limbs, and unleash a powerful blow/blast. The blast is really a blast of wind, powerful enough to destroy a brick wall, and crumble a steel one.

I'll get to the others at a later time. They include: Black Cinder, Hawkeye, Vergate(Ok, he's slightly villianish, so shoot me.), Minaka, Voltarion and Kronus.

Hoo boy. I made a pile of supers at one time or another... selected highlights and low points are presented here-

Windwraith- A female speedster. Her "costume" (secret identity protector) is the simple expedient of constantly being in motion so that all that can be seen is a vaguely humanoid blur.

Cerebrus- A good character with a completely inappropriate name... aside from being a generic non-powered hardcase, he has one power, which ensures that he usually wins- "evening the playing field." Oh, so you're invulnerable? Not when he hits you. Oh, you can only be harmed by gold? Not when he hits you. Oh, your telepathic powers allow you to sense incoming moves so you can't be hurt? Not when he's fighting you.

Scrapiron- Name shamelessly ripped off from the old Cobra flunky. Appearance shamelessly ripped off from the mid-90s version of Rictor. Powers- Magnetism, but he tends to act more like a brick... It's easy to lift and throw a car at your adversary when your powers are magnetic in nature. Sometimes fashions armor out of scrap metal, and sometimes goes all-out Magneto-like on his foes.

Marduk- A (DC) Captain Marvel ripoff. No, I'm not proud.

Coyote's Chosen- A WoD Nuwisha ripoff. You may kick me at your leisure.

Alice Moore- A technomancer.

Orion- Cliche name. Flawless tracker, enhanced physical attributes (a la Captain America), healing factor (on par with Deadpool's)

Valkyrie- This one I had some fun with. She's a capable hand to hand fighter, she's got big wings (like Angel did before Apocalypse got a hold of him), and she can "see" roughly how close a given person is to death. Hence the name.

Ah Phooey, He deserves to be that powerful after what he went through to get his powers. I'll post a biography if anyone wants too see it.

FATMAN, GUARDIAN OF OBESITY

Height: 6foot 11 inches

weight: unknown, every time he steps on a scale he breaks it

Appearence: A man that resembles a perfectly round ball who wears a purple suit and cape. Wears a purple mask also. Has an 'F' emblem on his chest

powers: Jelly Roll: Fatman starts rolling, and eventually becomes unstoppable and crushes anything in his path. Bouncy Ball: Fatman jumps from a high altitude and starts bouncing uncontrollably. Flamethrowa: Fatman holds a lighter in front of his *** and farts, creating a huge blast of fire. He can also fly this way. Fat Splat: Fatman jumps into the air and crashes down into the ground, his mass spreads and can crush things over a large radius. Fat Assteroid: During a huge fall, Fatman curls up into a ball and braces himself as he falls. Eventually he'll become red-hot and when he crashes into the ground, the effect will be similar to a meteor hitting the ground.

History: Just a really, REALLY fat guy. Grew up eating McDonalds food and never excercised. Decided to use his bulk to fight crime after the local McDonalds was blew up by a terrorist bomber.

OK, here are the bios of my two best heroes. Note, I do not think Afiag as a Hero, so he will not be brought up...


Name: Vikion

Height: 6'1

Weight: Several tons(He's made of metal. Whatdaya want?)

Species: Andriod/Robot

Apilities: Flight, via sonic busters built into his feet, other basic superhuman abilties due to being robotic, plus the ablity to draw in energy to one of his limbs to unleash powerful blasts.

Ultimate Attack: Hand of God. He draws in all the energy he can, with out shutting down, and unleashes a super powerful blow, that explodes with energy, incenerating the aponite in a brilliant white flash.

Main Nemisis: The Government( the corperation that created him)/the Unknown(An anceit alien that has God-like-powers...info on him later.)

History: You all know it.



Name: Hawkeye

Real Name: Jake 'Jack(His nick name...no one knows why.)' Michle.

Height: Depending. Human: 5'11. Hawkeye virsion1: 6'3 Hawkeye virsion2: 6'7

Weight: Human: 167 Hawkeye virsion1: 200 Hawkeye virsion2: 212

Species: Human (Guess he could be considered a metahuman...kind hard to explain.)

Abilities: Virsion one: Gliding for a long/short period of time(Depending on the wind), inhanced strength and speed, and his feathers act like armor. Virsion Two: Flight, wings immet a high frequency sonic wave, that shatters windows and screws up mechanics that aren't sheilded against his type of sonic waves. Sonic Scream, from his mouth, comes an earsplitting (Litteraly) blast of sonic energy. Blazing Claws: His claws are incased in powerful white flames. Inferno: from his claws, a wide spreading blast of white fire comes forth, incenerating what ever it touches.

Ultimate Attacks: Virsion One: Hawkeye: either a ball of white fire takes the shape of a hawk, about the size of a man, or blasts outward from his eyes. Very very deadly, never known to leave enemies alive. Virsion two: Hawkeye: a stronger, more deadly virsion of the first.

Main Nemisis: The Government(Yes, the same guys who are hunting down Vikion. Difernt reasons though.) And Vikion, for reasons that would spoil alot of things...

Dr.Jackson Roberts: Grew up as a young boy, dreaming of creating cures for diseases such as cancer and lukemia. Eventually turned to nanite science as a source of such. However, when he was scheduled to make his first demonstration of the test, his car crashed. He was nearly killed.
Nearly.
The nanites that were in the car with him were released and, as they had been programmed to do, they bonded with him to heal his injuries.

2 Days Later.

Dr.Roberts awakens in the middle of the forrest. Only, he doesn't know who he is. Or why he's sleeping near a car-wreck. He assumes that he somehow inadvertantly caused the wreck. As such he goes off to stop harm from being done for his penance.

1 Week Later.

Dr.Roberts, now known as The Swarm has discovered the ability of his nanites to travel into his brain and read his thoughts, also, this allows them to fly off of him and return after completing an assigned task. Dr.Roberts uses this ability to further his usefulness.

Well that's about it... Yeah I know he's kind of hokey.
But give the guy a chance! I mean, he survived a car crash for crying out loud!

To be a hero

Its been asked what kind of a superhero would you design so I’ve thought to throw my hat into the ring.

NAME: Brandon Ramirez

HERO NAME: Fire Brand

POWERS: He has control of fire. He can shoot streams of fire but he more commonly throws balls of fire from his hand. He can fly by superheating the air around him and using it to lift him up. He is immune to, is indeed, strengthened, by fire and extreme heat. He can use his powers to a variety of effects such as blasting a car to bits, welding, etc. He can see infra-red and heat signatures.

COSTUME: Common stree clothes but with red and yellow dominating and has a flame motif.

SKILLS: Being that he’s only fifteen, not much as he’s still training. He’s learning self defense, bypassing security systems, detection.

BACKGROUND: To his unending delight, though to the exasperation of his father, young comic book and hero fan, Brandon Ramirez lives in a city of heroes. Dozens of superheroes have watched over the city ever since the early 1930s and the city is rich with history; indeed, his grandfather runs hero tours which takes tourists through the city where heroes saved the day, ending in a small museum in the middle of town. Brandon’s favorite was El Aguila--or the Eagle, a 50s superhero and one of the few Hispanic heroes of the time. Whether catching bad guys or improving things in El Barrio--the neighborhood--he really set the stage for future heroes. (Aguila would have had an Aztec Eagle Knight motif and, aside from his energized obsidian sword would have been able to fly and would have had super strength.)

This all changed however, when an old super villain named Culebra--Snake--made his way back. It was bad news but it touched a nerve with his father and grandfather especially. Its because his grandfather, Jose Ramirez, had been in fact been El Aguila and Culebra had been has arch enemy. (It’s a play on the Aztec myth that the city of Tenochtitlan--now modern Mexico City--was founded when the Aztecs saw an Eagle eating a snake atop a cactus on an island in the midst of a large lake thus fulfilling a prophecy. You can see it on the Mexican flag.)

On finding this out, and learning why it explains the strange flame powers he’s been developing, young Brandon decides to fight it out with Culebra‘s boys. It ends with him in the Emergency Room and with him learning the full story from his father and grandfather. Grandpa had indeed been El Aguila in his youth and had trained his son as his sidekick in the hopes that he’d be able to pass it on. There was intense friction however, as being a superhero leaves very little time for looking out for you own kid. Indeed, though Dad was a superhero for a time, he swore it off forever when, while on patrol wasn’t there when his wife, and thus Brandon’s mother, died.

Dad decided that he wasn’t going to make his father’s mistake, he said that he wasn’t going to spend so much time being a hero to everyone else’s kids that he wouldn’t be a hero to his own. The lessons that grandfather instilled remained though and dad now runs a community youth center… where he instilled those values into his son, Brandon, thus explaining why the boy is crazy about helping other people.

But if anything, dad instilled those values a little too well as Brandon, on seeing what Culebra’s doing feels he’s needed and is determined to fight the good fight. Dad is exasperated at this and is afraid for his son but he gives in, however grudgingly. As for grandpa, he eagerly trains the boy in everything he knows and is something of a Merlin to Brandon’s Arthur. Old Jose Ramirez also serves to bridge the potential gap between father and son--in both generations.

As for junior high schooler Brandon, he’s having the adventure of a lifetime as he’s living his dream. The responsibilities of it are almost more than he can bear at times, though--crime, inner city gang violence, racial tension, tough moral choices--not to mention that he also has the problem of school work. Its not easy to both save the day and get your report in on times. Indeed, potential dates--such as got a crush on his Selena--get squashed when he leaves to battle bad guys. Even so, Brandon’s not giving up and, with buddy Nick at his side, Fire Brand in the fight!

MY IDEAS: If it sounds familiar, you’d be right to think of Static Shock. I like the show because it has an ordinary kid in extraordinary circumstances. He’s a superhero but at the same time, he faces the same things that kids today face, be it drugs, gang violence or other things. The potential of this show to help out and give a message really got to me and I adapted it.

Something decidedly NOT like Static Shock is Brandon’s family. (Except for the fact that the mom is dead, but that’s purely coincidental and dead parents are so common as to be canonical.) I got some from “Tenchi Muyo” with the image of son, father, and grandfather but the rest of it, father and son drifting apart but coming together for the grandson is my idea. I might give a full idea for Aguila AKA Jose Ramirez the grandfather--a non-white superhero in the fifties of all times would be a real shocker and has potential.

As for the name, I vaguely remember a one shot DC hero of the same name. Any similarities are coincidental.
