Godzilla and the SHIELD helicopters battle at the lip of the volcano while Dr. Demonicus gloats inside his command center. To dodge a blast of Godzilla's fire, Dum-dum Dugan and Gabe Jones are forced to dive into the volcano. There they see Dr. Demonicus' other monsters - the size-legged lizard Ghilaron, the giant moth Lepirax, and the huge crawler Centipor. Seeing the monsters, Dugan orders the SHIELD forces to disengage until they find out what is going on here. Realizing that the game is up, Demonicus cuts the energy grid, freeing his creations to battle Godzilla. Lepirax soon decides that he desires easier prey and attacks Dugan's helicopter as Dugan lowers Gabe Jones to the roof of Dr. Demonicus' command center. Gabe crashes through a window and finds himself facing Demonicus and his demon guards. Back outside, the SHIELD helicopters land and the agents attack the demon guards at the forge, getting some help from the Eskimo slaves. Meanwhile, Godzilla manages to give Centipor a lethal blast of fire, leaving him with only the jaws and claws of Ghilaron to deal with. In his command center, Dr. Demonicus gloats over his prisoner, telling Gabe Jones about how an accident with radiation enlightened him, making him more than a simple geneticist, how he realized the importance of the meteor that crashed on this island. He sued some of the meteor ore to create his first monster, Batragon. Soon, he gathered a small army of mercenaries and returned to seize the island. The mutations require periodic exposure to the meteor to survive, but when his ship is completed, that will no longer be a problem and Demonicus and his legion of mo0nsters will set about on a campaign of conquest and pillage. Gabe Jones mocks the madman as a view screen shows Godzilla gaining the upper hand on Ghilaron. Demonicus insanely declares that he is going to have to fight Godzilla himself. His soldiers try and stop him, allowing Gabe Jones to swing into action, subduing the guards and throws himself at Dr. Demonicus. Outside, Lepirax continues to attack Dugan's helicopter. Godzilla turns from the vanquished Ghilaron as the moth begins to pull the SHIELD helicopter apart. At the Eskimo village, the firefight between SHIELD and the demon soldiers ends when a bazooka shot explodes the meteorite ship. The remaining demon soldiers surrender to the law. Back in the command center, Gabe Jones finally bests Dr. Demonicus and turns to see Dum-dum Dugan's plight on the view screens. Finally, Godzilla acts, swatting Lepirax away from Dugan's crippled craft. A blast of atomic fire incinerates Lepirax and Godzilla crushes the burning carcass beneath his foot. The monster stares at Dugan for a moment before heading back to sea. Gabe Jones likens Godzilla's actions to making sure that everything is okay before moving on. The SHIELD agents lead Dr. Demonicus and his soldiers off while the Eskimos thank them for their rescue. Dugan refutes the Eskimos' conviction that they owe Godzilla thanks as well, saying he is just a mindless monster. Gabe reminds Dugan that Godzilla did save him from Lepirax, a fact that Dum-dum reluctantly concedes.
