Godzilla and Yetrigar battle in the Grand Canyon when Red Ronin arrives and tries to break up the melee. Rob Takiguchi believes Yetrigar to be an innocent, just like Godzilla, and does not wish to hurt the sasquatch-monster. At the same time, he will not allow Yetrigar to kill Godzilla. After a brief fight, Red Ronin catches Yetrigar in a chokehold, immobilizing the monster. Rob wonders how he can make the monster understand that he doesn't want to hurt him. Four white water rapid river rafters pass beneath the monsters just as Yetrigar breaks loose. The resulting avalanche traps the rafters in the canyon. Meanwhile, Dum-dum Dugan and Gabe Jones leave the crippled Behemoth behind and employ a SHIELD disc plane to pursue the trail of Yetrigar and Godzilla. Back in the Grand Canyon, Godzilla gains the upper hand and begins to best Yetrigar. Desperate to stop the fight, Rob directs Red Ronin to fire a warning shot at Godzilla. Godzilla is enraged by the attack from his supposed ally and attacks Red Ronin in earnest, forcing the robot to respond in kind. With both of his enemies wounded, Yetrigar seizes the opportunity to renew his assault on Godzilla. Rob realizes that he has upset the balance, that Godzilla is too weak to defeat Yetrigar now. Crying, Rob unleashes Red Ronin's full power on the sasquatch, driving the monster back and burying Yetrigar in a laser cannon induced rockslide. Dugan and Jones arrive just as both Godzilla and Red Ronin depart and the SHIELD agents busy themselves rescuing the rafters. Inside Red Ronin, Rob agonizes over killing Yetrigar, hoping only to run away from what he has been forced to do.
