It soon becomes apparent whose side Godzilla is on when Triax attacks him.
Realizing that Triax is different from Godzilla or Yetrigar, that the space monster
is evil, Rob Takiguchi directs Red Ronin to attack Triax at full force. The combined
power of Godzilla and Red Ronin force Triax to retreat - straight toward Salt Lake City.
Red Ronin intercepts the Mega-Monster just in time, carrying Triax away from the city. At
this point, the other Mega-Monsters descend from orbit - Krollar and Rhiahn. Red Ronin
hurls Triax at the new monsters, sending Triax flying across the countryside. Rhiahn
attacks Godzilla while Krollar burrows into the ground. Red Ronin looks around for the
burrowing monster, but is toppled when Krollar bursts from the earth at the robot's feet.
On the moon, the Betans monitor the battle when their sensors detect an approaching Megan
starship. The Megan vessel is to give the Mega-Monsters a boost in power with its
Energex-Ray. The ray will kill their own monsters, but not before the Mega-Monsters have
ravaged the Earth. The Betans send one of their own ships to intercept the Megan vessel.
Meanwhile, the National Guard deploys to try and keep the battling monsters out of Salt
Lake City. Triax returns and the three Mega-Monsters pursue their battle with Godzilla
and Red Ronin, with the National Guard firing on all five monsters. Dum-dum Dugan and Gabe
Jones arrive in a SHIELD disc plane and Dugan takes command of the National Guard forces,
ordering them to hold their fire for the sake of Rob inside Red Ronin. Jimmy Woo and Tamara
also arrive on the scene, the SHIELD agent bringing word of the alien connection regarding
the three Mega-Monsters. Godzilla again removes Triax from the conflict, hurling the alien
monstrosity into Salt Lake. Meanwhile, the Betan ship cripples the Megan vessel, but not
before being disabled in turn. The Betan ship's autopilot sends it crashing into the dome
of their moon base, venting its atmosphere into the airless void. In Salt Lake City Red
Ronin is double-teamedy Krollar and Rhiahn. Rhiahn employs its whirring, helicopter-like,
anterior bio-blade to sever Red Ronin's head from its body, causing the giant robot to
crash into the street. From orbit, the Megan ship fires its energex-ray at the
Mega-Monsters before exploding. Bathed in the ray's energy, Triax, Krollar and Rhiahn
grow in size and power.
