The miniature Godzilla is safely caged inside the Behemoth. Though small, Godzilla
manages to singe Dum-dum Dugan's moustache when the SHIELD commander strays too near
the bars. A chastened Dugan reminds Dr. Takiguchi and Gladstone Hawkins that Pym's
shrink gas is going to wear off sooner or later. Meanwhile, Hugh Howards tries to cheer
up Rob Takiguchi. The morose boy decides to go down to the containment room and see
Godzilla. As Jimmy Woo and Tamara watch, the boy visits the caged monster. The Behemoth
at last arrives in New York City, adopting a hovering position just over the Hudson
River. The Godzilla Squad disembarks from the Behemoth, but as he climbs down, Dr.
Gladstone Hawkins drops Godzilla's cage. The cage door flips open and Godzilla sinks
into the river. Dugan soon learns that Rob unlocked the cage door. The SHIELD agents
spread out, desperate to find Godzilla before he returns to his normal size. Warily,
the miniature Godzilla climbs onto a pier and makes his way into the city. Narrowly
escaping from a speeding taxi, Godzilla topples into a storm drain. In the filthy depths
of the New York sewer system, Godzilla encounters a bloated sewer rat. Back on the
Behemoth, Hugh Howards watches Rob Takiguchi, but the boy soon escapes from his keeper,
swimming over to the city to join in the search for Godzilla. Back in the sewer, the rat
attacks Godzilla, savaging him with its claws and teeth. When Godzilla fights back, the
rat retreats back into the scummy water. Godzilla pursues, battling the rat in the filthy
morass. Killing the vermin with a blast of fire, Godzilla climbs back up to the storm
drain. He hears Rob Takiguchi's voice and is drawn toward the sound. Rob turns when he
hears Godzilla growl, seeing the reptile slither out of the sewer. Suddenly, Godzilla
starts to grow, reaching a height of four feet. The monster growls again and stalks toward
Rob.
