Godzilla roams the streets of Manhattan, spreading terror in his wake. Jimmy Woo and Tamara Hashioka take Rob Takiguchi back to the Behemoth. Meanwhile Dum-dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Dr. Takiguchi and Gladstone Hawkins head into Manhattan to find the monster. Remembering how they lured Godzilla out of Seattle, Dugan and Jones decide to use flares to lead the monster to Metropolitan Museum. Dugan sends Gladstone Hawkins and Dr. Takiguchi ahead of them to get everything ready at the museum. In the Baxter Building, a telecast of Godzilla's rampage brings the news to the Fantastic Four. Wasting no time, the superheroes board the Fantasticar and head out to stop the monster. With police cordoning off the area, the now twenty-foot Godzilla is at last lured to the museum. Godzilla enters the darkened building and the SHIELD agents follow. Inside, news reaches Dum-dum Dugan that the Fantastic Four have decided to lend a hand. Recalling the dubious aid of the Champions in San Francisco, Dugan is less than thrilled by the news and wastes no time getting in a shouting match with the Thing when the Fantastic Four appear a few moments later. Fortunately, the cooler heads of Gabe Jones and Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic, prevail, and the two groups join forces as they hunt Godzilla through the dark halls. From out of the darkness, Godzilla appears, swatting the Thing with a tail lash. The Thing immediately retaliates. Dugan sits back, happy to let someone else get knocked around by Godzilla for a change. The Human Torch soon joins the fracas, lending his fiery powers on the side of the Thing. The fray soon crashes into one of the dinosaur exhibits and Reed Richards decides that it is time to bring the fight to an end. While Mr. Fantastic binds Godzilla with his elastic arms, the Invisible Woman tries to contain the monster inside a forcefield. Both efforts fail and Godzilla retreats into the darkness. The Thing pursues him and the fight is quickly renewed. The Thing retaliates after receiving a blast of radioactive fire by puncing Godzilla off the walkway they are both standing on. Unknown to the bruiser, beneath the walkway is a large aquarium displaying the museum's temporary display of live sharks. Godzilla topples right into the tank as the rest of the Fantastic Four and the SHIELD Godzilla Squad look on.
