- News - A huge American licensed Godzilla toy line is announced by the toy company Trendmasters of Saint Louis, Missouri. TriStar's Godzilla film is slated for a '96 release with screen writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott working on the script and Jan DeBont scheduled to direct. Yamato Takeru performs poorly at the box office, although Toho says they will continue with sequels to the fantasy film. Godzilla vs Space Godzilla enters post-production. Final numbers are in for Japanese grosses on Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II. The true nature of Toho's crackdown on unlicensed distribution of Godzilla merchandise is speculated. TriStar is rumored to have procured rights to Rodan as well as Godzilla, raising speculation that they will either remake Rodan as well or have the terrible pterosaur fight Godzilla in the new film. Ishiro Honda's scripts, storyboards and other memorabilia have been donated to Japan University by his widow. An anime version of Atragon is scheduled to be released by Toho sometime in '95. Members of the G-Project's Godzilla Club in Kobe are given cards which allow them the chance to act as extras in Godzilla vs Space Godzilla.
