Giant Monster Rampage II expands a great deal of detail to the tabletop wargame. New kingdoms, new powers and an expanded listing of kingdom specific powers are introduced to provide the player with an even greater variety of choices when creating his monster. An appendix in the back even gives a simple to follow method for players to create their own powers, providing for an endless variety of abilities limited only by the player's imagination.
Another chief improvement this expansion introduces is the ability for players to take control of military forces, giving unique rules for creating and deploying the armed forces that will oppose the rampaging monsters. Provision is also given for friendly monsters, ones who earn points based not on how much of a city is destroyed, but how much of it is left standing. Rules are also given to create swarms of smaller monsters, allowing a player to control a colony of creatures such as the giant ants from Them! Rather than a single kaiju-type creature. Finally, special characters are introduced, allowing the exploits of mad doctors, hapless damsels, valiant heroes and the ever-present annoying kid to have their impact upon the game.
New terrain and rules for battles in outer space and on the Moon round out this companion volume to Giant Monster Rampage. Fans of the original game will find the supplement as vital and necessary to play as the original rulebook.
